Re: Trailer for dogs, etc

I have a dog trailer made from a kid trailer. When I used to take the dog in it when it was an unmodified kid trailer, the dog would always be sticking her head out the front like she was trying to get out. I'm pretty sure what was happening was that she was sticking her front paws on the frame, bec...

Help: my Hyperion 1420 exploded

I may have possibly accidentally connected the balance wires to the charger before powering it on... then when I connected the main battery power connectors, there was a lot of popping and smoke, and the main connectors melted together, so it when on for a little while. I have some photos of the car...

Aren't you worried about putting that much torque/power through a bicycle drivetrain?

Re: Problem with Hyperion 1420i

On my latest charge, the TCS value, which started at 59%, went up to 61% after a while, which was a gross underestimate (actual value should have been 75ish). I manually restarted the charge and then the TCS value started increasing more rapidly. It still totally missed 90%.... I ended it manually w...

Re: Bicycle Insurance

In MD, the new law says that scooters and mopeds (including ebikes) must ride in the bike lane when there is one  Also, someone posted on this forum the contact info for a Progressive insurance agent from Texas who will write policies for ebikes, because the new MD law also says ebikes need i...

Problem with Hyperion 1420i

I set my Hyperion 1420i to end the charge at 90% capacity by the TCS function. The problem is: if I charge a large battery (like my whole pack -- 16 Ah) it doesn't update the TCS capacity value during the charge. It stays on whatever it was when it started. So, I have to end the charge and start it ...

Re: Glass puncture through the tire

If you ride anywhere there might be glass, you should check your tires visually every so often because glass can get stuck there and eventually work its way in over time, just as you described. A little prophylaxis can go a long way on glass.

Also, hats off to a guy who did some solid research.

If someone were to ask "what's the best way to build a low cost hub motor ebike?" the consensus response from this forum would probably have been

Genesis V2100 + yescomusa kit + LiFePO4 battery
