Troubleshooting - Need Help Please

The build is a 72v 15ah life04 battery system, Cycle Analyst, twist throttle, Crystalyte HS3540 rear hub motor, Inferon 72 V Controller.... I ran this build (Norco Charger, Bangor Maine) for the first time last fall with no problems. It got up to 47mph and it was a blast to ride back and forth to wo...

Re: Ever Been Pulled Over by Police on Your eBike?

If he was just curious about e-bikes he could google them on the internet, not inconvenience a rider in the middle of a ride. Why didn't he give you a voucher for a free Thanksgiving turkey for being a good rider? I guess I'm just used to the police being hostile as they are to all bikes in my area...

Re: Ever Been Pulled Over by Police on Your eBike?

A few years ago I was pulled over. A car came up next to me as I was riding in the bike lane. It slowly passed and signaled for a left turn at the next intersection. They were probably circling the block looking for parking. Without warning, the driver swerved the car right, almost sideswiping me, ...

That is not nationwide though. In Maine, there is no set limit..... Is this true where you live and, if so, how well is it enforced?

Ever Been Pulled Over by Police on Your eBike?

I just was last night here in Maine. Yes, it is true and so funny too! I was riding the ebike home tonight during my commute and noticed the Veazie, Maine Police car swing in behind me. I knew I was going the speed limit, but he pulled me over just as we got to the Veazie/Bangor line. He was just cu...

Re: Vicky's NORCO Charger Build - Bangor Maine

Hey Vicky, I'm in Presque Isle! It's exciting to see another Mainiac on the forum. I also run a crystalite at 72v with 40amp controller, however I use Lithium Polymer batteries. It is great. My winter project is upgrading the phase wires, and adding hall sensors. Good luck, and be safe! Great to he...

Re: Vicky's NORCO Charger Build - Bangor Maine

Thanks - I had the box made up using fiberglass and black dye by a guy (Terry J.) in the area who created the box. He did a fantastic job! Not too sure at all about the snow. I have a Subaru Outback with heated seats for that. :) I know that I would not like to ride it if there is snow or ice on the...

Thanks Wally - I may rebuild the Norco into a custom frame - take out the bend on the top tube.

Update - The Norco is staying! I will just patch it up. Nuff said.

Update - NORCO Charger back in action

Thanks for the comments. The torque arms I got from ebikekit did NOT fit like a glove. It seems that the new HS3540 bolt diameter is slightly smaller than previous versions and so the fit was not so precise. So, I am getting torque plates for both sides that fit. I will post the results. I will be ...

Re: Vicky's NORCO Charger Build - Bangor Maine

Hi Brentis,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I've bought the Headways. It's a done deal now.
Being my first build, I did a good bit of learning and tried to find the best batteries for the ebike of which there are MANY choices.
I chose the Headways and will let people know how it turned out.

I am interested in the motors. Could you post some pics and let me know, more importantly, if you still have them. :)
Thanks,
