Re: My solar-assisted custom tricycle FOLLIES

I had a weird experience recently, where I had a bill I never knew about turned over to a collection agency. Whilst attempting to verify the bill was real, I had to sit through three different service operators and by the third operator my patience worn (very) thin and I used the word 'damn' where t...

Re: 60v 30ah brand new battery

I was using one of these, shunt included. It was nice (for $15), since it kept the watt-hours in memory, even after disconnecting the battery. Some others don't. Stopped using it because it stopped registering watt-hours, I think when I turned on regan in my controller settings.Something got fried ...

Re: My solar-assisted custom tricycle FOLLIES

Just received those cool (somewhat) dc-dc buck converters which include a volt/amp/watt meter and are just a tad bigger than 1/2 the size of the buck converter they're replacing. Since some assembly is required Ol' Shakey's not quite as enthused about them. :pancake: dc dc with volt amp watt meter l...

...My noobish eyes are really not sure what I'm even looking at there. If they come from build threads with actual value, would appreciate links. If just funny/silly then never mind 8-) they are both trikes with dual motors, so I doubt their builds would satisfy your requirements, as trikes are muc...

Re: Front suspension forks question

Oh, you can get away with that on something like a big ol' heavy or just long trike.. What i wouldn't do strong front regen on is a run of the mill 2 wheeler bike frame! Also, that extended length springer fork bent at that insane angle gives me the heebie jeebies. I'm just having fun with your (in...

Re: Front suspension forks question

Of you want strong braking, then a rear DD with regen is the ticket. it can slow you down better than any mechanical brake. I'd absolutely not run high power regen on the front though as you're liable to be thrown off forwards. O RLY? (I always wanted to use that meme) O RLY.jpg note: both trikes h...

Re: My solar-assisted custom tricycle FOLLIES

Changed my RGB side LED strips into turn signals. They do catch drivers attention, unlike the handle barend turn signals... and am in the process of adding a lower level 'dream chaser' LED RGB strip. Re: Can I replace my charging connectors with crimp on bullets?

Did you mean: XLR connector ? I use NL4 connectors whose chassis connector is the same size as a female XLR chassis connector. It has four connections that wipe on and off and I've yet to have a failure in the 8 years I've been exclusively using them for battery charge/discharge connections, limited...

oh oh oh I actually had to fix something on the 'other' trike. I'm of the opinion that long term touring on a bike is full of hassles. But besides that my last touring set-up used a delta crank-forward trike and trailer. For all the reasons others said about recumbents except a trike is able to handle much more weight and an average trike is only 6" wider per s...

I drill and tap my cranks. It's cheaper than having the local LB$ do it. And after you've bought the tooling nothing prevents you from continuing doing so. (friends, relatives, etc)
