Re: My solar-assisted custom tricycle FOLLIES

Here's something one doesn't see too often. Or at all. A twirly fork being used with mostaccioli pasta in loo of spagetti! A J/K gift (the twirly fork, not the pasta) my grandmother acquired in the 1920's making it around 100 years old (or young, depending...) silly use of twirly fork.jpg :pancake: ...

the hummingbird moth was the largest insect I saw until I spied an Asian G-Giant hornet (it's g-normas) And here I thought these things still hung around Washington state where they're trying to eradicate this invader and hadn't moved down south (yet). So much for the eradication program! **********...

Re: My solar-assisted custom tricycle FOLLIES

If it's mostly the tires limiting you, and you *need* the extra capacity, you could change to lightweight moped tires, like the Shinko SR714's I'm using, whcih are 2.5" x 16" so will fit typical 20" bike rims--they are quite a bit wider and a bit taller, so they don't fit every frame. YOu'd want to...

Re: E-bike or E-motorcycle?

I was under the impression that velomobiles were pretty fast, and basically a trike with an aerodynamic body over them. Am I mistaken, or is there something that makes them different and better at high speed stability? your assumption is , more or less, correct. For some reason, people laugh when I...

Re: Stretching the wheelbase on a trike

Mr dogguy, the poster above you added so much false information I don't know where to begin. But begin I will with: let's have a conversation about some of the real reasons traditional trikes are so 'tipsy'. On a bicycle we humans (and some monkeys, chimps and orangutans) are playing a balancing act...

Bear in mind as well, that nothing will make it easy to ride on the edge of a highly cambered street.
the trike i pictured not only rides a crown of the road like a bicycle, but also turns at speed without tipping.

not so much...

the best connector is the one you chose...sometimes I've been using 4-pole Speakons for my power connections forever thereabouts. I've yet to have a single failure. I read lots of ill-conceived quips about those 'awful' Hobbyking LiPo battery packs. As usual, I don't concur. Right, but it's 6A at 120 volts (720w); these are for fluorescent lights. My max load is 20A at 36 volts - same wattage. Or is that not how it works? yes, I mean no, I mean that's not how it works. Switches, wires, contacts and such have to carry current, not power (applicable note below 300V) Ther...

Of you want strong braking, then a rear DD with regen is the ticket. it can slow you down better than any mechanical brake.
