Better than a Flag...

... is a Bird on a Bike!
Trust me, the bird is real and alive!
And it matches the Yuba Mundo!
Seen in Bloomington, IN, Little 500 weekend, 2016.

Looks like you have a solid plan, well thought out and researched, with proven components to meet your well-defined goals. The bike should turn out very well. I'll be watching. :)

8) Very Cool. add some earphones I love a clean look, but I love to hear what's going on around me more. I bet that's what he's going for. As always, personal preference. Besides, this way there can be music thumping as the crowd gathers around the parked bike to stare, gawk, and drool.

Re: Dogmans mixte cargo bike. (long tail)

I like the design. :D A jig would be nice next time. Here's a cheap-o jig I finally got around to making. Perforated steel tube and 3/8" bolts. It's designed so one size will slide into the next one up, for adding more lengths later. This much of a set up cost me about $60 at the local hardware stor...

Re: Custom frame build, Help design.

Are there any custom rear dropouts being made that could be used? My first thought was the Doctorbass torque arms, complete with a derailleur hanger, but after popping over to the sale thread it looks like he's having trouble producing them now (his machine shop declined to do them anymore.) https:...

Re: -WAYNE'S TADPOLE TRIKE-

Just doing a quick look through Utah Trikes... A basic frame kit is $900 A cheap trike is $1000 A decent trike is $1500-$2000 (and prices go up steeply from there.) Their KMX + Falco motorized trike is ~$3000 None of those have suspension. I figure if I got $3000 canadian I would most likely do that...

Re: Custom Cruiser II

Glad to help. I've been happy with mine. The rest of the bike... not so much. There are some geometry issues: front-rear alignment 'not-quite-right'; rake and trail off just enough that the steering is 'not-quite-right.' Neither is dangerous or floppy, but after awhile of riding, I'm left with an un...

Re: Custom Cruiser II

A couple of rides in, still need to work the chain rub issue and improve the fit and finish. As it seems it will never stop raining in the midwest, it needs fenders for sure. The wood panels are still raw and need covering of sorts, maybe just a clear/stain. Here's a pic of my brother just before he...

It's the XL-FD model (Extra Large-Front Drum) $81 at Universal Cycles. https://www.universalcycles.com/shoppin ... p?id=42788
They of course carry most other models as well.

Nice work. I like the use of rod ends for the swing arm pivots. I'll be watching your progress. :D

Re: Custom Cruiser II

Modbikemax, I've used this wheelset on my green cruiser for awhile, and I agree the S-A is not as "immediate" as disc, but it just took some getting used to. This is the larger 90mm hub which is suggested for use on pedicabs and cargo trikes, and it seems to be holding up well to my heavy e-bike use...

Re: Custom Cruiser II

A few more pics of progress. Been awhile, mostly painting and waiting. I've learned it's just going to be better in the future to pay for powder coating. This color is what I call "Satin Chrome." It's what happens when the self-etching primer has a weird interaction with the chrome paint, and so you...

Re: Custom Cruiser II

Sort of finished the box. I still need to sand it down along the edges and finish it. I mounted it and reassembled the bike for a powered ride. I didn't bother with the chain. Or the rear brake, for that matter, 'cause I need a new cable. The 90mm Sturmey-Archer drum brake works quite well, and with...

Re: Custom Cruiser II

Thanks beast. Here's some more work. I used these little threaded weld tabs on the inside, but just epoxied them in. I have an oak panel I'll cut & stain/clearcoat to go over it all. Finish the box, and I think I'm ready to ride. :D ... Then take it all apart again to paint. https://lh5.google...

Re: Custom Cruiser II

Went for a pedal test ride and all went well. Disassembled it again for some work on the battery box. I used 3-5/8" metal stud track from the hardware store, $3.97 for 10 feet. Idea from the homemade battery box thread http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12847&hilit=battery+box , pg...

Re: MAC hall replacement. Lotsa Pics

This one is an older motor, before the change in laminations, so there may be differences. Remember the clutch also slips over the key in the shaft. I removed mine by holding the motor by the clutch with both hands and having a helper lightly but firmly tap on the axle. Once off the key it came much...

Always good to see more dedicated frames being developed. Some of my thoughts: - Geometries are actually inspired by the hybrid-bike top brand average, with a slightly longer wheelbase A picture is worth a thousand words. While I have and idea what you are saying, I'm probably not alone in wanting t...
