Re: Horn for 96v battery(24s)

I remember a while ago, tested a 12v pickup truck horn and initial current draw is around 120w. I'm guessing it would be the same or close to the ones I'll use. To simplify further, will use instead 1 of the onboard switching psu that I'll use for charging. Diagram shows in "charging" mode. When in ...

Re: Horn for 96v battery(24s)

Prefer to directly connect horn to pack. Will (2) 48v horn wired in series work? A nice simple solution if you already have the horns. My only issue with the whole idea is running voltage that high up to the handlebars. For safety reasons I never run pack voltage up to the bars. Good point. I alrea...

Hi Fechter, it is good to hear from you. The chip is covered with epoxy type material so I am not able to see it.
You should sample 1 by removing the potting to know if your converter uses the fake chip or send it to someone to do this...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I second and it's street legal! Would be nice if the pack is a bit bigger(>20%) for more range... thinking if it's practical to add more batteries under the seat and use the same bms - i.e. by using thick parallel wires to connect the extra cells.

Thanx guys! I usually start balancing when a cell hits 4V. So, it can balance up to 24s, I don't see any pc connectivity option; I guess it's not supported.

Re: A2B Metro restoration / modification - Fechter's first Ebike

Update on the dimmer I posted a few months ago, it works at 12V and 20V. Dimming is tricky to adjust, takes about 2-4 seconds to dim/brighten and I was able to use only 2 brightness settings. When connected to 3 led headlights at 20V, power output is: Dim - 9W Full - 28W Since the amp draw is low at...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Reading the posts from a few months back, looks like it's usable except the lousy english app. Concerning reliability, so far how many miles have you guys road tested this bms? What's the max # of cells it can display on the lcd screen? I only see 18 on the seller page. Does the "Automatic balance" ...

Got a similar LED headlight to yours - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XVAEP8E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Light is rated 12V-80V. Tried to wire 2 in series to my 24s(98V) pack. The 1st light is bright but got hot to touch in <5 minutes, the 2nd light is barely warm and just dim...

Looking for an inexpensive way to convert this fork into cad data. Surface is all flat ; height would be increased from 14" to 15.5" and cut using water-jet.

Re: Active pre-charge/inrush control

I may just go all fets because of the smaller density compared to contactor + dc-dc + precharge circuit combination. The Toshiba TK72E12N1,S1X fet you mentioned earlier looks like a better choice and has come down in price. It's $1.86 if you buy 10pcs in Mouser. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...

Re: Active pre-charge/inrush control

Thanks to Jeremy and Richard, my pre-charge circuit lasted for years until I lost it. Now for my present build, I need a precharge circuit for 100V, 180A. I can still use IRFB4115s but will need to change the board layout - more fets, heatsink. What if to just use a DPDT switch wired to a contactor ...

What's the recommended way to connect the cells? Can you just spot weld the ends using .15mm nickel?

Velocifero Mad scooter upgrade

Delivered on a thick cardboard box weighing 120lbs, so scooter weighs approx 110lbs. 52 inches long. The frame, fork, swing arm and seat post are made of steel. The battery frame housing has enough room for 200 18650 cells plus other things. I'll use either Samsung INR18650-35E or Panasonic NCR18650...

QSMOTOR,
Do you have a high kV hub motor that can fit a Velocifero mad scooter? motor should have a freewheel-sprocket mount and disk brake mount.

Re: Razor E300s upgrade

Everything about this scooter is crap except the frame. Cleaned, painted and vented the motor ; just warm when ran continuously for 1Kw. The fork broke twice. So, I inserted a pipe inside the tube and welded the bottom edge and drilled 2 self-tapping screws on the front and back. Have been riding it...

Got the wires sorted. Didn't bother opening it(not easy without cracking the plastic clips). I'm not connecting the crappy meter.
