Re: Using the Wangdd22 1500W 30A DC Boost Converter on an ebike

Maybe if we post some pictures it would show the differences. My old foggy memory sort of remembers the 20 amp and 30 amp being somewhat different in structure. However I am still waiting for the weather to get better so I can test the 30 amp one. otherDoc Whoops, we already got pictures of both. It...

The second one finally showed up from China so I paid for it. Banggood was quick with the refund when we thought it got lost in the mail, whic it did. Only 1.33 months to deliver.

Re: Using the Wangdd22 1500W 30A DC Boost Converter on an ebike

Well I guess I'll have to join the test group. I have a 36 volt 17 amp controller that has 60 volt caps and 75 volt mosfets so it should be OK for 50 or so volts. I also have a 36 volt battery. As the weather here is terrible (40F and rain) I have to wait a few days until the sun comes out. It alway...

Should attempt to incorporate my Wangdd22 voltage booster on my 36 volt trike to aim for around 50 volts.

The lack of instructions is simply part of the Chinese plot to rule the world. I will say however that their electronics knowledge and quality has vastly improved over the years.

Re: Using the Wangdd22 1500W 30A DC Boost Converter on an ebike

I just got mine and I have a quick question. I know what input and output voltage adjustments are for but it has that 3rd variable resistor that is labeled "CC". Is this for max current ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Using the Wangdd22 1500W 30A DC Boost Converter on an ebike

Well mine arrives (for sure) today from Amazon.. The Banggood people are refunding my money, and if their converter actually shows up I'll resend the 23 bucks and have 2. No experiments with just one of them, just try to follow your directions and make it provide a bit of extra boost for hills. They...

Re: Using the Wangdd22 1500W 30A DC Boost Converter on an ebike

I too agree that parallel ones would probably work OK. You are adjusting voltage with the converter, so amps will come from the battery, controller and motor combination. My controller is max of 18 amps, so the watts are limited. My motor draws limited current, so it should not overload anything. My...

Re: Using the Wangdd22 1500W 30A DC Boost Converter on an ebike

Well I broke down and bought the Amazon one. It arrives Friday. If the Banggood one shows up I may have the chance to try parallel boosters, but I really don't see the need. If your fan never goes on in Phoenix, then I don't see the need to parallel. My battery is only 10s5p. In fact I may leiminate...

Yep I have a Cute 100H on the rear of my Steintrike. Works fine up to about 18 mph @36 volts. Had 12S Multistars previously and it tops out at 22 mph.

I have always wanted a Velo, but here in the Sunny South it would need air conditioning. The other problem is that when they started they were around 4 grand, a bargain. At the current 10 grand price, not so much.

From what I remember from my old contest electric glider flying days, Bob Boucher of Astroflight purposely use Samarium Cobalt magnets (and I believe still does) for his electric motors. He knew that even thought they had a little less magnetic force, they could withstand heat far better than Neodym...

The regen problem that you state certainly makes sense. It will not occur on my trike due to the geared motor with freewheel. I am waiting for Banggood shipping to get it here. Probably by the slow plane.

Re: BMS Hook up for 14s 2P lipo - without smoke and fire!

Thanks Dave! We do carry wattmeters and alarms now but the best way I know to help batteries last is to know their capacity and use only about half of it. We have standard bike routes and distances of about 20 miles, and that use only half or so of our battery capacity. The meters and alarms are for...
