Re: connections for? EcityP Smart S5-13 BMS

circuit: Try the drivers that are within the O2 Software folder.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\O2Micro\CowBoy\Aardvark"
or
"C:\Program Files (x86)\O2Micro\CowBoy\O2USBI2C"

Also if you feel brave please open up the adaptor box and post some pictures of whats inside.

Re: Advice needed - Looking for a new controller

Thanks for your reply. The current battery pack has 12x lithium 10ah cells, the motor is a 350w 3phase rear hub motor (with sensors). All the motor has on it is a engraving saying 36V350W-26, at a guess I would say that means the motor is 36V 350W, and suitable for 26" wheel. Regarding power / speed...

Advice needed - Looking for a new controller

Good day all. As per the topic title, I am looking for some advice with regards to getting a new controller. This is not for me directly, I will be buying it but it's for my father's birthday. My father's current setup is a 36v 10h battery pack, unknown cheap chinese controller, 350w brushless motor...

Re: laser/waterjet cutting

Neovin: As you are in the UK, have you tried putting up a request up on the mycncuk fourm?

Do you happen to have a cad file or dxf file of the part you are wishing to have made?

I would offer you making the part on my cnc, but I am in the middle of upgrades.

Best Regards.

Re: connections for? EcityP Smart S5-13 BMS

I am also working on a 02Micro OZ890 BMS unit.

I don't have the money to spend out on one of the Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter's.

So I am trying to see what I can do with a simple Arduino Uno.

My topic can be found here: O2Micro OZ890 Based BMS Units.

Best Regards.

Re: O2Micro OZ890 Based BMS Units

I was able to find some i2c device scanning code for the arduino over at the Arduino Playground. Direct link: http://playground.arduino.cc/Main/I2cScanner And here is the arduino sketch code: // -------------------------------------- // i2c_scanner // // Version 1 // This program (or code that looks...

Re: O2Micro OZ890 Based BMS Units

The FTDI UMFT201XB-01 will not work in this case, as the UMFT201XB-01 is a I2C slave device, and not a master device. As I am unwilling to spend $250.00 on the Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter . I am going to try and use my Arduino Uno to pull all the data. So far I have only used to Arduino Uno to det...

O2Micro OZ890 Based BMS Units

Good Day All. I am working on a ApolloGroup LT-013SF BMS, and this is based on the 02Micro OZ890 chip. The 02Micro OZ890 chip can have all the BMS parameters viewed or adjusted via the i2c bus. I have found a copy of the CowBoy software v0.75 for use with 02Micro OZ890 chip. In the software for the ...

I can't help you with the details above, but each time I have looked on the subject I always seem to end back at one of SunStone Engineering's web site pages, or youtube videos. Web Link: 1000ws Capacitive Discharge Spot Welder I don't know if any of the above is of any help to you. Best Regards.

Re: Lithium Battery Pack - Build or Buy?

I know I could just test the cells how they are, but I would prefer to take more time and test each individual cell, so that I know that all the cells I use are good.

Re: Lithium Battery Pack - Build or Buy?

Once again thanks for all your input. I think I am going to try and build a pack based around the 18650 laptop cells. I used to be in the I.T trade, so after a quick phone call I was able to collect 12 old laptop batteries. 8x ICR18650-20, 3.7v 2000mAh. 16x LGR18650P, 3.7v ????mAh. 16x LGR18650U, 3....

Thanks for your replies so far, as always lots to think about.

SamTexas: I take it you don't care much for the single turnigy cells, I was just doing a google search and came across the single turnigy cells, but as you seem to feel very stongly about them, I think I will stay clear of them.

Lithium Battery Pack - Build or Buy?

Good day all. As per the title I can't yet deside if it's better you build a pack or just buy a prebuilt pack ready to go. This is not for my self, but for my father. He build his own e-bike, and had been using 3x 12v 7ah SLA batteries. But the SLA batteries have now had it, so my father brought a p...

Re: e-bike/moped motor and controller questions

Regarding the voltage drop, it seems that I am getting alot of voltage drop over the power feed cables from the battery pack to the controller. Testing the voltage drop with a DVM and I get the following. Negative: 0.3volts drop @ load. Positive: 2.0-2.3volt drop @ load. So a total of 2.3-2.6v drop ...
