Re: Giant AC-E / GNG

I'm pondering parting this bike out. A (potential) new office that's a couple of km from home means I don't need something quite so industrial strength to get me to work so I'm condensing my bike stable and will be rolling there under my own steam. It is certainly a solid performer (has lugged my la...

Re: GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

1171.6km? Unless someone has a faulty throttle and theirs actually runs at 450w, then that title is likely to be yours for a LOOONG time. That's a decent 20% tooth strip job though! My first one stripped (like yours) , second one snapped, third one cracked, half snapped then stretched... Now I take ...

Re: GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

I have been shopping for FS frames that pivot at the BB and have an adjustable rear wheel dropout for a single speed setup. I think this is the perfect design for running high power through the GNG kit as it allows you to run power through the right side without a derailleur/idler, or you can put a...

Re: GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

Without an angled blade, what part of the motor would those paddles actually be cooling? Seems like an odd design, but was the inside of that case profiled in any meaningful way? Maybe this is expecting incoming airflow from a particular direction(?) and this is more about creating turbulence than a...

Re: Giant AC-E / GNG

I had to pedal quickly on the downhill to keep you within camera shot and was out of my comfort zone for any emergency moves, the A2B Metro would handle badly compared to yours. I'm not a fan of that section at best of times and normally coast through from the top and it still becomes my highest sp...

Re: Giant AC-E / GNG

HAHAHAAAAA ohhh thats beautiful.
I've often wondered whether I've left people in a fit of rage, but never stuck around to see.

I did think I was being tailed pretty hard down the hill too!
I distinctly remember those roadies on the left - slowed right down for them.

Nice work :)

LR those belts and pulleys are looking like a great upgrade. Do you foresee any crank arm clearance issues with the additional few mm? 14T-28T Shimano five-speed splined freehub (perhaps a threaded freewheel exists too?) http://www.sjscycles.com/store/shimano5speedfreewheelbig.jpg Even though I see ...

Get the matching grip for the other side if you get a Magura.
Some vendors bundle this, but I think it's worthwhile to have controls feel the same.

I like mine a lot. Has performed flawlessly so far after the mod posted (thread linked to above) by denisewa.

Re: Recommendations for Carbon MTB Conversion

On a carbon frame I'd suggest mid drive too, although my GNG v1 is far from light. But im using a heavy bike to start with. Perhaps the lower power bafang drive may suit and you can work with your gearing for torque. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=50104 Or (if you're will to c...

I won't ponder local regs on a public forum, but my peak hr commutes are uninterrupted on bike paths and roads, Don't ride like a tool, pedal along always and you shouldn't have issues. Perhaps something like this could suit you: http://www.gngebike.com/36v350w-48v400w-gen2 I'm running the GNG gen 1.

Coincidence / lazy feedback providers. Either way I wouldn't be suspicious.
You didn't bother to comment on the two people posting AAAAAA a few lines down.

Some people can't be bothered to think up ebay feedback so they copy others.

Look at how civilised that town looks - what the?
Where are the potholes and gravel?

Trees growing sideways from the wind are very interesting out there - did you see any of those?
