Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

So basically you will build your pack on arrival.. you're not shipping a pre-built lithium pack. That makes more sense.

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

So they are letting you fly with lithium batteries in a bike? I realise you can take bikes as checked luggage, but an ebike? didn't think so. Some more information would be awesome I think there are plenty of people who want to travel with their ebikes.

I've ridden this bike, and it's a credit to Chris how well the bike is built. It looks amazing and is super fun to ride.

Great work Chris. Catch you on our next ride.

Re: Controlling throttle speed completely with Arduino

Typically ebike controllers use an analogue input between 1V and 4V (ish). For a hall-effect type throttle. Your Arduino can output PWM signal with varying duty cycle 0% to 100% pulsing 0V to 3.3V. The RC filter averages out the % duty cycle too a voltage which becomes your throttle signal. Note Max...

Re: Dengfu M09 Endruo/Freeride build log

have you tried bluetoothing to the display with the Bafang Go app, it may or may not be bluetooth enabled but you might be surprised. From what I have been told, you cannot change settings (like wheel diameter etc) through the display, this requires reprogramming of the drive unit.. (if that's what ...

Re: Dengfu M09 Endruo/Freeride build log

Hi Wayne, My frame is a little bit different to yours. the mount must be further towards the axel, because the cable is not long enough for me to use the internal routing holes. I had to cut and extend the cable in order to install it correctly.. mounting the sensor further towards the rim will work...

Re: Dengfu M09 Endruo/Freeride build log

Morning all,
Kepler, could you please post a pic of the 'single speed sensor' cable? showing the length. I received the twin cable as shown on the schematic you posted. The second port on this cable is a duplicate of the middle unused connector on the motor.

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

I've been thinking about this as well, I would recommend a small Atmel or Microchip Microcontroller. It gives more flexibility, and you could do things like 0-45km/h present normal range to the controller, above 45km/h present half speed. That way you still get useful information from the speedo.. S...

Well it's one provider making comments about a competitors product.

Typically you don't see Honda doing teardowns of Toyota cars and making vids or adds about it.

Interesting though..

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Nothing to stress about. You'll ride on single trail just fine. The lighter lower power bike will feel quicker on single trail particularly when going down hill.

But hey we're not really racing. So no matter what you ride it'll be fun....

If it's an ebike... Its a good choice

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Depends on your riding. I think m500 m600 and other (Shimano brose Bosch Yamaha) 250w is perfect for mountain biking. The ultra really is overkill for single trail and is heavy . But if you've got long dirt roads and not single trail, the ultra is well suited. As always... It depends on the situatio...

Re: Carbon Fiber e bike with Bafang M 600 mid installed with throttle

Yeah I know about the ex1. But the largest cog is still hard up against the wheel which is where the chain line is the worst (with respect to wheel clearance)

So even though it's 8 speed it doesn't solve the chain/wheel clearance problem.

Re: Carbon Fiber e bike with Bafang M 600 mid installed with throttle

maybe 12-speed cassette with 4 of the inner gears removed, offsettting the cassette towards the drive side.

It would be a frankenbike anyways not something worthy of retail to consumers.

Re: Carbon Fiber e bike with Bafang M 600 mid installed with throttle

the issue is chainline... to get the chain past the big fat tires you need to move the motor out-ward, but since the motor is only 'so-wide' you end up shifting the whole thing to the drive side, which is a problem on the non-drive side... might be possible but I don't think you can just drop in a n...

Re: Carbon Fiber e bike with Bafang M 600 mid installed with throttle

The idea behind the m600 is not all-out power.. Bafang make the ultra 1000w for that. Its intended to be a light (er) weight but go-anywhere motor.

Its intended to be compared with the Bosch, Yamaha and Shimano ebike drives.
