Re: Bafang M600 error code 30?

Ever fix this? I get an error 30 from time to time. Could be coincidence, but last two times I was on the "power" display option.

IMG_20201016_103626 (Custom).jpg You have to be careful with the plugs because the two small plugs can be reveresed.. IMG_20201016_115601 (Custom).jpg See the M600 has extra FETS and two shunts in parallel, the M500 has only 1 shunt, and less FETs. Also note the size of the 3 PIN phase connector......

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Has anyone sucessfully altered the speed limit on the M500, I don't need the M600's power ( I would sooner have light batteries with greater range ) yes, you need the BESST Tool, or access to someone with the BESST Tool. THen you just change the Speed limit to 40km/h, wheel size to 29 or 27.5 (or 2...

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Here's a new one. Error 27... Display works, speed is correct, no motor output Cause: a full afternoon of shuttle downhill runs a couple of days ago and this morning I got half-way through a ride, bombed down a very rocky single track, with jumps and berms. While heading down, I saw the display flas...

seen these??

Looks awesome for tangent / cyclone riders...

There's a guy on facebook who can't get it going though, the pack needs to talk to a tool to drive the output.

Ideas anyone?

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

I wonder if it's just the M500 gear... That would kinda make sense.

I might see if I can order a couple then pull down the M600 to see if they're the same size. I've got a feeling they might be

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

I don't think it would make much difference. The sound doesn't appear to be resonant.. and seems to be originating from / isolated to the motor... Not saying it won't make a difference, but I don't think it would be significant. THe noise of the M600 isn't a show stopper, it's not obnoxious.. just l...

Nice work. I fitted a coil shock to my giant reign. More than double the weight of the original super deluxe but you can't beat the plushness of a coil.

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

just to clarify, is it the speed that is limited with the throttle or the power? I can "sort of" understand if it is the power, but I cannot fathom why they would cut out throttle assistance over a certain speed...

I have a throttle here I should just plug it in and see for myself.

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

NO I'm pretty sure that in level 1, I get assist to full speed. hang on I'll check and edit when I get back. *EDIT* Yep in level 1 it provided watts right up to 30km/h (my speed setting) not huge watts but it was certainly assisting. *EDIT 2* no idea about throttle response sorry, I only use it Torq...

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

From page 9... In general it feels a lot like a Bosch, Yamaha, Shimano ebike... Although the new Bosch smart / auto mode is pretty fancy. No Problems. I have been thinking about the M500 vs M600. I've ridden both, I currently have the M600 installed on the bike, and it is noticably a huge difference...

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

I've been riding the M500 and M600 and I am pretty happy with how the 5 assist levels operate, I've so far not had a desire to make changes to speeds or assist in different levels. I think they've got it pretty right to be honest. I guess there could be cases for customisation, (if you want really l...

What more do you want? You can unlock the speed and calibrate the speed using the wheel size (diameter) that's pretty good.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Well I haven't got a surron so I'm not 100% sure but yes, at some stage the throttle will need to be an electric signal for the controller. So there will be wires. I would unplug and replug everything and check for loose wires as you go

Good luck

dodgy throttle? or perhaps broken throttle wires? it could be something simply like that.

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

So, I am getting this issue: JahexOSU3lc This is a very strange problem. Using the Besst Tool I was performing a "Position Sensor Calibration". Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Oh interesting fact. I rode with a Giant ebike the other day, and they have the Yamaha motor. It is 'at least' as loud as the M600. M600 must be spinning faster internally it's higher pitch but the Yamaha was certainly not quiet. Compared to the Yamaha and the M600 you couldn't even tell the M500 wa...

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

M500 or M600? M500 level 1 and 2 are just to overcome the weight of the bike. They feel like riding a normal bike.. very smooth power delivery good modulation and integration (feel) Level 3 is where you actually notice the power bit still smooth and linear to the rider input. And this is like level ...

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Some options. possible you may need to dish the rear rim towards the non-drive side, loosen all drive side spokes by -1 turn. Tighten all non-drive side spokes by +1 turn. this will move the rim and increase the angle of the spokes, moving the magnet away (hopefully enough) Another thing to check is...
