Re: More LTO cells ~3.5ah

I would like to start using LTO in more applications in the future, based on what you've been sharing. Thanks for supplying these. So to that end, I think I should start with a batch of these smaller pouches and see what I can make for fun and figure out how to build these things. I'll take a dozen ...

Re: Quieting my charger

Seems like you traded the benefits of the case for the benefit of reduced noise and increased cooling. If that was your intended effect, you're golden. But for any others looking to simply reduce the noise, they could try a quiet 40mm fan: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAB944H92...

Re: LTO Lithium Titanium Oxide (Titanate) Battery 30S - Seeking the Ultimate Commuter Battery

I like it!...as long as the battery tabs are aluminum-to-aluminum, the metal on the outside that is clamping them together is free to be steel, brass, etc... Re: More LTO cells ~3.5ah

I'll take a sample to try out if you are still offering. My partner is on vacation for a couple weeks. He has test charged a completely dead cell @25a rate. Full capacity. I have come up with a number of uses for them and would likely not have a problem going through more than 500 cells pretty quic...

Re: How I charge my ebike from J1772

I skipped the lasts half dozen posts as this has gotten a bit off the rails. I just wanted to post my appreciation for Jim's efforts to make the video. I saw the $150 control boxes elsewhere and thought that there must be an easier (and less expensive) way to do it. A couple resistors, a diode, and ...

Re: optimal shark battery placement on my bike, opinions?

Optimal pack placement for any battery pack would be between the wheels along the line that your axles create.

From that, any deviation should be considered a compromise to a well controlled center of gravity.

Re: Ferrofluid for hub cooling? BS or real?

It's likely that the 8ml isn't going to cover every square mm of the magnets and doesn't need to. There may be something out there that's better than the current Ferrofluid because it can completely cover the magnets before it reaches the physical limitations of the fluid to cling to the surface. Bu...

Re: Cheap hub sink?

Hey Guys, I noticed that there are companies who sell those aluminum heatsinks to go on the hub itself while being locked to eachother with screws to make a 360 degree circle. The problem is that they charge like $70 for them. Is there an alternative? like a business that sells something similar bu...

Re: Ferrofluid for hub cooling? BS or real?

Hey Guys, Was just told by a friend that it works wonders but since it sounds too good to be true, I wanted to check here with the experts. So, first of all, they claim that it helps conduct the heat through the air gap that is about 1mm wide between the stator and the magnets which sounds logical....

Re: Has anyone tried a 3x1 shift setup?

If you run a short piece of cable to a fixed place, you can effectively 'lock' the derailleur into the spot you want. I'm sure there's a good number of ways to deal with the cable piece and tension, only limited by your imagination.

Re: 135mm hub motor on 130mm frame

7mm seems like a lot, but since the 5mm went without much effort, the extra 2 mm may work. How's the other side look? Maybe you can take some of the shoulder off of the axle on the non-drive side to compensate

Re: Has anyone tried a 3x1 shift setup?

Can't you just use a derailleur and lock it into place instead of buying what amounts to a fixed derailleur?

Personally, I'd spend that money on more motor or battery.

Re: Some lightly used BMWs coming to market from LAPD?

Unfortunately, that doesn't mean consumers will get a deal from unused vehicles. Any equity would be reaped by BMW since these are leased vehicles that are not going to be optioned for lease-end purchase. It does mean that there will be a good number of underused BMWs (that will likely sell at a pre...
