Re: optimal shark battery placement on my bike, opinions?

Optimal pack placement for any battery pack would be between the wheels along the line that your axles create.

From that, any deviation should be considered a compromise to a well controlled center of gravity.

Re: Ferrofluid for hub cooling? BS or real?

It's likely that the 8ml isn't going to cover every square mm of the magnets and doesn't need to. There may be something out there that's better than the current Ferrofluid because it can completely cover the magnets before it reaches the physical limitations of the fluid to cling to the surface. Bu...

Re: Cheap hub sink?

Hey Guys, I noticed that there are companies who sell those aluminum heatsinks to go on the hub itself while being locked to eachother with screws to make a 360 degree circle. The problem is that they charge like $70 for them. Is there an alternative? like a business that sells something similar bu...

Re: Ferrofluid for hub cooling? BS or real?

Hey Guys, Was just told by a friend that it works wonders but since it sounds too good to be true, I wanted to check here with the experts. So, first of all, they claim that it helps conduct the heat through the air gap that is about 1mm wide between the stator and the magnets which sounds logical....

Re: Has anyone tried a 3x1 shift setup?

If you run a short piece of cable to a fixed place, you can effectively 'lock' the derailleur into the spot you want. I'm sure there's a good number of ways to deal with the cable piece and tension, only limited by your imagination.

Re: 135mm hub motor on 130mm frame

7mm seems like a lot, but since the 5mm went without much effort, the extra 2 mm may work. How's the other side look? Maybe you can take some of the shoulder off of the axle on the non-drive side to compensate

Re: Has anyone tried a 3x1 shift setup?

Can't you just use a derailleur and lock it into place instead of buying what amounts to a fixed derailleur?

Personally, I'd spend that money on more motor or battery.

Re: Some lightly used BMWs coming to market from LAPD?

Unfortunately, that doesn't mean consumers will get a deal from unused vehicles. Any equity would be reaped by BMW since these are leased vehicles that are not going to be optioned for lease-end purchase. It does mean that there will be a good number of underused BMWs (that will likely sell at a pre...

Re: ST charger... convert from 13S to 12S

I would guess that it is controlled via a resistor somewhere in there. Good luck trying to reverse engineer that one.

You're going to have a much better (i.e. easier) time buying an adjustable charger or one set for 12S and selling that one.

Looks pretty good, but I agree with Tek': TA should always go against frame.

Another question, does it allow the axle to fully sit in the dropout? Looks a bit shallow, but that could just be the image angles.

Re: When selling stuff online classifieds...

I usually have them meet me at my place. I live in an apartment building and meeting them in the front common area. I'm generally not worried by the people that I interact with. If they are sketchy on the phone or text, I won't put in enough effort to find out. If they want to meet in a public place...

That's a small motor, so using light stretch-capable spokes will be the best. 14g butted Sapims are the best of the affordable camp, IMO.
