Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Rix, Do you know where to get a UFO motor if I only wanted the one? I checked with stealth, they have them as I recall they were asking 6675 plus shipping from Australia... Love to see if there is anything closer to cut down on shipping and cost. thanks! I bought mine directly from Stealth 5565, it...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Death is coming for you... very very slowly... you all see this unit?? CZEM Drill one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6N0L_Wn_CY sounds like a serious unit.. Looks like a pretty good bike, but the wheels are too skinny for that kind of power and weight. Looks like everyone is gunning for Sur Ron'...

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tires)

Disregard my last. here is a pic of Luke's bike with a 273 laced to an 18" rim, its 2X lace pattern, he did have the holes drilled at steep angles to make it work. Looks like 1x to me? Am I missing something? You are correct, I should have looked closer, the spokes only cross once between the flang...

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tires)

That being said, I would not recommend putting an 18-inch rim on a QS 273. Yep, I get that, look at the gnarly steep angles of the spokes in relation to the rim and hub motor flange. Almost looks like the load would be more lateral than vertical at those angles. Can't say how that wheel will hold u...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Kenny says there's no 55100s available. I'm not sure if I want an H5580. I want my back wheel to be 12 pounds lighter, though. Rix, will I be happy with the power? How many phase amps are you giving it? Yah, the 5580 will be better than the 5403, maybe a few MPH slower, but a bit more accleration/t...

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tires)

The 273 hubmotor family cannot be spoked to an 18-inch rim. It can be spoked to a 19-inch with difficulty. For a street scooter, the 273 can be ordered with an aluminum cast wheel in the smallest possible tire. In the standard Chinese catalog listings, the "H" is the height of the magnet when the m...

Yes and yes. Figure out your spoke length here. https://www.ebikes.ca/tools/spoke-calc.html After you know the length of spoke, contact these guys and they will get you spokes and nipples. http://www.buchananspokes.com/categories/custom_spoke_sets.asp So the "Clyte H Rear" is the same size as the Q...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Is there a source in China where I can buy crystalyte motors like QS? http://www.crystalyte.com/ I used to deal with Kenny back when I was importing motors to the US, because I worked with Electric Rider in Texas, I could get away with ordering as little as 5 units at a time. I have been told if on...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

how does it affect the suspension? do you notice a difference between the UFO and the OG? No, not really, yah its 6-7 pounds less of suspended mass, but because the weight is so low, I can't tell. And because of where the weight is, to get these bikes to handle good, the rebound needs to be slowed ...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Rix, Are you running the 5565 UFO motor? Im still on the OG motor on my bike. I know you have run a ton of motors and wanted to see what you think. I've read that its slower but has more torque (perfect for me), is a bit louder and has a new hall-sensor harness which means I would need to either ru...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

So can I upgrade the battery and that's it? Do I need a new controller? I don't know where to start. To summarize, I want more low end power, would be ok sacrificing top end speed, want to go farther on a charge and want it to not shit the bed. Fast, Cheap, Reliable... I know I only get two so I'll...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Which is weird. I still have the stock bearing on my Bomber, 16000 miles of road and dirt road, probably 2/3 of the mileage is dirt. The bearings still look great and don't have any surface race play. Yeah, I think we can assume it was just a defective bearing since it happened early on, and especi...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Will this missing piece affect anything until I get a new motor? The corner of the magnet was flipping up and grinding against the stator. The particles combined with the Ferrofluid and turned to clumps. Its probably the reason the magnets are still attached You may want to number the magnets and c...

Then you can get 160km on the 850watt battery.
But why would you want to?
yeah, each to their own, but that makes for a long boring ride
Yes it would be a long boring ride. I guess to say that it can be done would be bragging rights for mileage rating purposes.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

On-road is a lot of fun if you don't have to deal with heavy city traffic. I love riding on the few streets that are like the ones on your trail. However, Off-road riding is really tough on the body, if you really ride fast off-road you have to be in great shape. It jolts every part of your body, i...

Re: Dengfu M09 Endruo/Freeride build log

Here is a quick video (nothing too exciting) of the bike setup with with 27.5+ 2.8" rear and 29er 2.6" front on a 29er ebike specific Fox 36 fork. Really happy with the way the bike rides in this configuration. The level of noise is pretty accurate to what you are really hearing on the bike. Also a...
