Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Glad I got them, thanks for the recommendation Rix! Ironically I ran this tire on my Bomber and loved it for off road. Off road wise, its the best tire I have ever ran on an ebike, but the Shinko SR241 2.75-19 is king for all around pavement and dirt performance. Anyway, thanks for posting the pics...

i hate kickstands on a off road bicycle, i love to lay them down , i just get this freedom feeling

Unless you like to lay it down and then slide backwards on the left side, I don't see that kickstand hanging up.
No the kickstand wont drop on its own. Its has a very strong spring.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Nice with a kickstand huh... No need to find awkward places to put your pedals on. Which bike do you think will be used the most now? I still ride the Stealth P7 alot from the house, as it performs bicycle duties really well. As far as any ride where I haul my bike in my truck, the Sur-Ron will be ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Do we have any Sur Rons in Perth. No sure if the stock chainring will handle Perth sand or if the motor will over heat. Hey Rod, I can tell you the stock gearing does handle semi soft sand with little drama with my heavy weight. If the sand is really soft and deep, no go though. That said, the 58T ...

58T Sprocket? Check, Renthal Chain 420 pitch Check. Power wheelies? Check. So my indicated speed is 76Kh/H with the 58T. We all know that aint correct. Took it down the road to a police radar trailer which confirmed top speed at 36MPH. It would appear that speed is measured off the motor. Anyone go...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Luna now has a 60T aluminum sprocket available I'd just as soon have steel for durability. Don't think much difference between 58 and 60. Mathematically its less than 4%, not huge. Steel is tougher than aluminum, but aluminum can be made to be tough. I suspect that Moto Moto's sprockets will be the...

Re: Stealth FUTR owners builds and pics

at long last: the bike is finished! A couple of issues at the end that delayed things: I needed to change out the 450 lb rear spring, and install a 650 lb. I just could not get the old spring off - so luckily I had another RCP-3 shock, but had to dremel down the bushings to fit. Also, rather than r...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I have fitted 100/70 in 19inch, they are a front tyre suited for a big wheel 85. Probably 3 times heavier than the CST factory fitted tyre, but 3 times the rubber. Sur-ron have advised that you can cut the brake sensor wiring, although i chose to unplug and remove them completely. Remove the cover ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

How's the colour in person ? Is it powdercoat or anodizing ? It looks fairly thin in the pics but I guess it's hard to tell. Updates on my battery, and I find and fix a loose spoke.

nice review, I have a couple of nipples that are warped as well from tensioning the spokes. My hope is the spokes take a set and I don't have to worry about it for a bit.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

The shinkos SR241 is way way wider than their advertised size. Mine measures out at a little over 2 inches wide. They are considerably bigger (higher profile) and wider than the stock tires. I think Rix means the shinko 241 19 x 2.75 is just over 3 inches wide .. if you try to go any wider the rear...
