Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

This thread is awesome and invaluable! Thanks everyone! I've had my X for a few days now and am loving it and loving all this stoke here. It seems the official forum Luna uses is pretty dead and the FB group is run by them so it's only going to mention things they want. It's cool to see a few of yo...

Re: Stealth FUTR owners builds and pics

Has anyone else done anything like this yet for their Alpha? I know Lash made a similar pack a while back, but can't recall if it was 14p like this. Hey CD, my pack was 20s10p the cells were nested together but only 5 wide i think from memory. I like simple packs so you can build fast. 14s14p is 19...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

If someone measured 12 amps with the wheel off the ground that makes me think this is the reason for the crappy range people are reporting. I think we need to look more into this. Not sure how much current the bikes draws unloaded with the wheel off the ground, but I was getting 20 miles of WOT off...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

Nice Fetcher, did you have overheating issues before? No, not really. But a cooler motor is more efficient. Before adding the fins, the motor would get pretty hot after a long run but not so hot you couldn't hold your hand on it. At lower speeds climbing hills, heating will be more of an issue. The...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

In steep areas such as where I live, the regenerative breaking from the sine wave controller does make a difference. A ride that was about 8 miles and 2400 vertical feet took 31% of my battery getting up there. Getting home with the regen breaking took 0% battery even though I gave it some throttle...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

So if one was to say the effective range of the SurRon is between 20 and 50 miles, that would be an accurate statement. That sounds about right to me. If I ride on the street mostly full throttle I can get somewhere between 25-30 miles range. If I kept the speed down to under 15mph, I'm sure it wou...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I see your point about the mileage. Probably closer to 30 miles max. Really liked your vids Kim, also, thats a nice shiny read SurRon you got there. The potential range can be subjective for sure. I know with the 55T on my old green one, I could easily get 25 miles off road where I ride, but thats ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

The SurRon is a gateway drug, after owning mine for 5 months, I went out and bought an Alta Redshift EXR because I liked E motorcycles so much. I probably wouldn't have gotten the EXR if it wasn't for the SurRon. To add to that, I would have never bought the SurRon if it wasn't for owning Stealth E...

Are you sure the bearings aren't 7mm wide? 20mm x 32mm x 7mm seems to be a very common size you can find tons of on eBay for cheap.
This size is labeled 6804.
It may be 7mm instead of 6mm. I will need to check mine later this week.

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

Hi sorry not sure if this is the right place but I need to replace the front wheel bearings on my light bee. Has anyone else done this yet? They look like they use the same axle as mountain bike hubs so I'm wondering if they are just mountain bike wheel bearings? Probably plastic if the headsets an...

Re: Alta Motors Redshift

Now a MXR can do a full moto with a Pro on it and last the whole race plus a few hot laps with no thermal problems. This is absolute complete and total bullshit and you are very much misinformed. The 2018 Redshift MXR at our track overheats in like 4 laps with the owner or my friend riding it. Neit...

Re: Alta Motors Redshift

Hard to tell if the video you posted is the real deal or if this was a review made by a rider that has not yet gotten used to the power delivery of the MXR. If you see the comments below there are two that kind of says he is all wrong about most of it, including the overheating. And the weight dist...

Re: Alta Motors Redshift

The tires, brake pads, and chains/sprockets are general purpose items, so they will remain available from a third-party seller. I am curious about what parts are "Alta-specific", and might wear out. Buy a spare of X, Y, and Z...if you own an Alta. They appear to be pretty wonderful. Just the chain ...

Re: Alta Motors Redshift

That guy rides way, way better than either of you, arlo or macribs. The overheating isn't an opinion or bad guess on weight distribution it's a unavoidable consequence of someone riding the bike hard. Multiple people (all fast) have ridden the bike and had the same issue. The owner brings it out ev...

Re: Alta Motors Redshift

As I type this, the un-official word is Alta already has a new investor/owner. More information will be made available within the next week or so. Even though KTM makes the E-Ride, my wild guess hunch is the new investor/owner could possibly be KTM. I base this on the fact that alot of KTM dealers a...
