Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

My bike has been up on the lift since before Christmas. Maintenance, minor face lift. and a new battery are on the agenda. The original battery served me well for 5 years, and over 10,000 miles. I'm sure it lived a hellish life inside that metal box in 100 degree Texas heat. It was pretty saggy las...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

RST Fork guys: I pulled apart the right hand fork leg containing the compression dampening mechanism. I drained and refilled the internal piston with 10 weight oil that was on hand (not sure what stock is). Made a huge difference to the responsiveness of the compression dampening dial. It's not a r...

Take it from someone who lives around the factory and in a part of the country where HD shops are a big presence. HD has been into electric design for more than a decade. Not starting, rather they’ve been watching the economics. Or so an HD engineer reports. But if reliability follows their pattern...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I used to make billet swingarms and frames. The swingarm weighed 1 kg without hardware.GP frame 1.jpg Wow, that's pretty darn light! Does anyone have an idea how much the stock swingarm weighs? Is there a bearing where the swing arm connects to the frame? I guess for calculating the force, it seems...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

RE: Swingarm Flex My cut Shinko 3.5" tire clears the kickstand spring by over 5mm but under hard cornering it hits. The spokes are tight and it has 20psi. That's swingarm flex. I decided to find a smaller, lighter, less grippy tire that doesn't overwork the chassis so hard. Yah thats frame/swingarm...

SR241 on the rear??
This tire is much much bigger than the 18x4.00-18 SR241 tire. Its a MotoZ Mountain Hybrid 120/100-18 tire and the tire is HUGE!!! The pics do it no justice. If Shinko made an 18x5.25 SR241, it would still be smaller than this tire.

What is the most range you gotten out of a ride....meaning a good fun ride, not just max range? Looks like a good time always in your pictures. Tom With my Zeros I don't have odometers. I can tell you I have done 5.5 hours of riding and come back with over 1/3 charge left. The type of riding you do...

I have the same shock but haven't tried it yet. It does have more travel at 3.5" vs the stock 3" on the Fast Ace. Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I couldn't find much information or conflicting information on the fastace BDA53RC rear shock, was it was designed for a motorcycle or bicycle?. For some reason the suspension seems really good on the Sur-Ron and made me believe that perhaps it used a motorcycle rear shock. I did find on their PDF ...

Very nice looking set up Litespeed. I owe the a lot of the excellent handling characteristics to your research on the tires. The Shinko 241’s are the shit! Appreciate you doing that for the rest of us. Thanks for the kind words. I’ll tell you a 14KW bike that weighs in at 125 lbs with all that squi...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Now if you are in a rural area where most people run 250cc dirt bikes, then it would make sense to go with something larger. That is what Rix did. I actually always wondered why Rix ran ebikes in the desert, but he eventually moved to an Alta because it made more sense as I guess he wanted to stick...
