Re: One stop for solar charging ebike info?
I set up a camping trailer for hauling all my stuff that way I can keep my e-bike uniform/clean when I'm not camping. For day trips I think it better to simply haul around more battery with you but I much prefer charging at the camp site on multi-day trips over trying to find an open outlet at a par...

Re: questions about mini-hub for a child
Thanks amberwolf. That's got my mind steered in the right direction with thermal control modules and voltage divider. Escs just hear "voltage" from your ebike throttle correct? Like your throttle is just a fancy potentiometer that changes the voltage from 0 volt to 5 volts or something lik...

Does anyone know the actual weights of these Hallomotors?
Every motor is listed at "5.8kg".

questions about mini-hub for a child
Hi, I've been out of the "buy new stuff" game for quite a while now. I have been riding my most recent build since 2013 and nothing has broke. I'm afraid I've lost touch with what's the latest-and-greatest. 1) I want to do another build, this time an "assist" based build, the lig...

Re: Razor kart upgrader
Seems like an "escalation of force" problem. I mean sure you can upgrade the motor, but then you should probably upgrade the axles and then you probably don't want that much stress on the wheels/tires so upgrade that too, then the brakes won't stop you fast enough, then the ball joints ect...

Re: preferred method for stacking batteries end to end
18650 cells dont put out much current nd are fairly heavy.... so dont expect too much performance from them Right. For typical 5 minute "sporty" flights I like a good 30-40c, for 30 minute flights I want about 10c and for 1+ hours flights I only need 5c. For my intended use 3c is plenty f...

yeah a good 20 minutes faster than the 2nd place rider lol, I just couldn't help myself. "You are going to burn up your battery trying to go faster than us on the hills" "your motor will break if you try to keep up" "you should start in the back so you don't interfere with t...

Re: preferred method for stacking batteries end to end
How big is the pack ? That's sounds good for a flashlight. Like 3s for 12v . Not a bouncing ebike. Sorry I was thinking 3s 10ah. I'm into both electric bicycles and model airplanes. It would be for a long-skinny fuselage. For model airplane weight reduction reasons I probably won't be doing a full-...

Re: Hub motor industry dying?
of course they weigh far less so all around a hub is a poor choice for weight Hey, that's not true BBS02 = 10lbs BBSHD = 13 lbs Cyclone kit = 16lbs. 9c/mxus hub = 13 lbs. The weight is comparable because a certain amount of magnet and copper is needed to accomplish the same task. 1. Cost: They are ...

I think I want to build a 2170 pack except stacked end to end like in a flashlight. What is the current best way to build packs like this?

Re: Hub motor industry dying?
Super american answer. I respect your opinion, but can't agree with it. In regards to America vs Europe it should be mentioned that American infrastructure is built up around highways and European infrastructure is built in regards to horse/foot travel only to later adapt motorized use. Americans c...

I'll be honest that is horse crap having a healthy respect for safety does not put me at risk that's idiot talk. Re: Solar Trailer Technical Advise
Depends on the panel. I was pleasantly surprised to see my HQST 50w "flex panels" giving just a little more than 50 watts (measured at the wires)Well, you'll never get the full 100 watts. You can probably count on 70-80 watts under ideal conditions from a 100 watt panel.

Re: Solar Trailer Technical Advise
I guess that sort of depends on how many whs you want to consume per day. I personally find myself creeping into the 2k per day mark at times. You won't get a full 100 watts out of that trailer during the morning and evening which is probably the time you want to charge. I would expect maybe 40-50w ...

Re: High powered Ebikes high speed suspension setup
The bike will "porpoise" if your shocks are too soft. You don't want to be leaning way forward after your wheel drops down deep in a dip. The bike will slam and try drive a bike up your innards/through your forearms if the shocks are too hard. Generally you want the shocks soft for casual ...

Re: Advice for a newbie
Due to their more robust frame downhill and freeride bikes make the best bikes for what you are talking about. You can probably find a used one on Craigslist. You could put a large hub motor on the rear wheel but having single-tracked on both hub and mid-drive I find mid-drive to be better. Having m...

Ok, I have done several test runs of the Skull Valley Loop with the Black Bullet now. With 17lbs of lithium I'm hitting around 2:30 With 24lbs of lithium I'm hitting around 2:15 With 26lbs of lithium I'm getting just under two hours I guess the question now is should I leave the athletes in the dust...

Re: Raised Bed Gardening - Cement Blocks!
Nice one DrkAngel! I did one using cement blocks too. I made the mistake of buying most of my blocks from Lowes. It turns out I have a place in my area that specializes in nothing but cement blocks (Yavapai Block) and sells cement blocks for much cheaper. My garden isn't really working for me. My is...

Re: How to identify antennas?
Presumably you just try them out and see what works best and this is because of impedance. Even among the same manufacturer antenna length varies and that's because loads are different from device to device. The materials used cause resistance and the antenna/device has to match. For instance when y...

Awesome! Glad to see in the details that it's a relaxed group ride, otherwise I bet people would get their feathers ruffled at the motor. I dunno, there may be some "feather ruffling". On 8/14/2019 the website said it was an electric-bike friendly event. After I registered on 8/15/2019 an...
