Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

Good idea Crossbreak. But do you think the small motor as a left-side-DD will get you up a hill from standstill with that gearing? I also think that a DD is better for high power (4000W+). That's why the upcoming LR LHD single stage kit is on my list. The LR has more motor mass (I forgot about rotor...

Re: Bafang Ultra powered Full Suspension Carbon Bike from Germany

I haven't seen the new Spitzing yet. I know from two friends (both have Bafang Ultra and HD) that the TQ Drive is very good (pretty strong for an EU-legal drive and good torqe sensing). The new Flyon bikes from Haibike wich use the TQ aswell, look more interesting to me (price/looks). I hope I get t...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I have an EX-1, it works just like a normal cassette. 48t-11t with 8 speeds means not much overlap between the gears, which is great for the motor. The first 4 gears are about 10mph apart (under motor power), works great. Derailleur is easy to adjust and seems to hold the tune. The largest cog is r...

It looks like it has a good amount of copper. Maybe more than BBS02 (from what I remember)

I was wondering if the size of the rotor (diameter, widht) is smaller or bigger compared to a BBS02.

Re: How to reset a bbshd?

In the worst case you might have fried your controller. The display came on for a couple of seconds because there was some juice left in the capacitors. Good luck! I fried one in a similar way.

Bafang Ultra powered Full Suspension Carbon Bike from Germany

Hello, For those with serious offroad riding in mind, who are looking for a capable bike with Bafangs Ultra drive, take a look at this: http://www.exess-bikes.de/ The manufacturer is just an hour away from my home, so I went there for a test drive on the trails. For the last 2 years I was riding and...

Re: How to wire up the easiest way? (Alltrax, Agni and Batte

KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid :) I didn't know that term. Can you recommend a bulb or resistor for the intended use as a precharge resistor? What specs? Maybe a 55W/ 12V bulb from a headlight? Or do I need something with a higher power rating? Did you think of something like this as a loop pull? http...

Re: How to wire up the easiest way? (Alltrax, Agni and Batte

Thanks for clearing that up major!

I guess I'll just buy a contactor with 72V coil.

I still wonder why the bike has a converter for the 12V stuff and another for the 24V contactor coil.

Re: How to wire up the easiest way? (Alltrax, Agni and Batte

Thanks Punx0r, Good explanation! Now I think I will keep the contatactor in my bike. My contactor is a Tyco LEV200A5NAF. I'm confused by the sticker on it that say's 24Vdc. My Bike (2012 Zero X) had a converter for all the 12V stuff (lights speedometer etc.). I took all this stuff off the bike to sa...

How to wire up the easiest way? (Alltrax, Agni and Battery)

Hello, I thought its better to ask you guys for advice before I blow anything up :) I found this build and it looks like they're not using a contactor: http://b2600ev.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/evkart_rt_rear.jpg I want to do the same. Reason is keeping it as simple, lightweight, less complicate...

Re: Neodrive rear hubmotor with quick release axle

I didn't know about the Tidal motors yet. their axles don't carry undersized phase wires, wires exit motors through individual holes in thick centre hub. so their axles are just off the shelf quality bicycle axles Looks like the Neodrive is like that too. http://www.neodrives.com/uploads/tx_papslide...

Could it be that this is the only hubmotor that uses a quick release axle? http://www.neodrives.com/uploads/tx_papsliderzoom/slider_stage_motor_1.jpg Most new bikes don't have those open oldschool dropouts anymore. My Norco Shore 1 for example has Maxle front and rear axles. If I want to install a m...

Almost at the bottom of this site you can find a comparison table: http://www.embedded-world.eu/fileadmin/ ... asonic.pdf
2,1Ah, 30A and 1000 cycles! Pretty good specs.
Release date: 10/2012, but site seems to be from 2011... I wonder if these will be available.
