Re: Madness. Why such slow penetration for hybrid?

So what is your assertion then, Dauntless? That coal is enjoying a renaissance because a handful of mines in one U.S. state have resumed production as evidence of some politician or other who is going to "save" democracy and take back a country for the people by destroying the tyrants at the U.S. EP...

Re: Madness. Why such slow penetration for hybrid?

I have no idea what your point is, you just seem happy to have found a fellow contrarian and have decided to jump on his bandwagon. Globally, coal use is in decline. It's probably the death-knell for what is one of the dirtiest fossil fuels. It has been increasingly displaced by natural gas and rene...

The closest I've seen is a modular generator/water pump/pressure washer from Evolution power tools: http://www.evolutionpowertools.com/uk/evosystem/evo200.php Different applications usually have different requirements of the power source & prime mover so end up being different and non-interchangeabl...

It's interesting how often you can clearly pick out the teenager who recently discovered strong political opinions and is incredulous that anyone would disagree with their world view, which they only recently subscribed to. Also, how they honestly believe they are uniquely insightful, that everyone ...

Agreed, it sounds like a problem with the control side of the welder. Using a rewound MOT to power the welder is just not going to work. There's a giveaway as to the size of transformer required to run the welder - it's the one inside the welder! That big lump that's many times the size/weight/cost ...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Plants fix CO2 from the atmosphere and convert it to tasty bananas. If the bananas go uneaten the fruit decomposes and CO2 returns to the atmosphere. If people eat all the bananas instead they metabolise them, releasing CO2 to the atmosphere. This is simple, common-sense stuff. But if you start with...

Images hosted on a broken, free photobucket account and not even a microscope shot to show the alleged coating on the wire. :?

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

I am impressed that you've come up with an actually novel AGW denialist claim: that warming is happening, but it isn't CO2 that's the problem, it's SF6 emissions from PV panel manufacture that's to blame. It doesn't even seem to matter to you that this claim has already been robustly refuted twice i...

I am in favor of phasing in a world wide carbon tax, right when it leaves the ground. Which could put a true value on it. But how can we do it? Global carbon pricing is coming. Dunno when, or it what form, maybe through the Paris climate accord and it'll be small to start with. The EU started somet...

If a forest is being managed and wood has to be removed and it is not suitable for construction then yes, I think it's reasonable to burn it for heating or biomass power generation. Especially where the alternative would be to burn a fossil fuel.

Fastest DOT legal drag radial car runs 5.90s at 275mph. If a stock tire p100d simply continued to pull as hard as it does from 0-30mph all the way through the quarter mile it would be an 8second car already. Wow, I didn't realise the Model S rubber still had so much give. Those road legal drag tyre...

And thats sustainable. Its same with forests, you can cut them and re-plant in sustainable way. Surerly there is same logic behind oil. Sure, just use oil at the same rate it's being used. Considering it takes millions of tens of millions of years to create fossil fuels, that rate will be miniscule...

With those patently rediculous beliefs you are not qualified to comment. No wonder you oppose RE in favour of continuing to burn fossil fuels. You are beyond reason and beyond help. No doubt you will continue to deny reality even after it has played out around you.

It costs nothing to produce an apple,..nature does that for us So in your world apples are free at the orchard gates? For one thing, edible apples are not grown from seed but from graftings.
