Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Would really love to know if tangentdave will sell me a 3210 tangent controller-I nuked mine. I had one of the very first few units-and it's been great. Barring that-has anyone successfully hooked up a Phaserunner to one of these?

Is Tangent still in business?

I can't find a phone number for them and I've been trying to contact them for a month (via the email on their site) about a controller. Anyone know how to contact them directly? Would sure appreciate the help if someone does.

Re: Looking for someone that can make torque plates for my Yuba Mundo

Well, I don't want to weld the ones I have-they fit every other bike motor I've ever seen and I may want them for a different motor in the future. What I hope to find is someone that can cut some for me if I send pics and measurements. They are just flat triangles with holes-if I had equipment for t...

Re: Luna Cargo Frame with TDCM igh

Great build! Looks like a lot of fun :) Might you remember what size the axles are on the TDCM motor you installed (between the flat sides and over all? I'm trying to have torque plates made to install this same motor on my bike.

Looking for someone that can make torque plates for my Yuba Mundo

I bought a TDCM DD hub from Grin Tech http://www.ebikes.ca/shop/electric-bicycle-parts/motors/igh-395.html The axle seems to be a bit smaller than the standard 12mm I've seen on the other ebike hubmotors I've had. Is there someone on here that's US based that might be able to make me two sets of out...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Well, whadda ya know..flashed back to stock with the quality control .xml that Justin posted a few posts back and then set my CA at starting regen at .50 volts minimum time .5 seconds and it works perfectly. I now have regen! Hey Cycborg, you might want to try flashng that .xml before you play with ...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Well, we have 2 bikes here..one is my Mac, the other is a Crystalyte DD hub. I'm the mechanic in the household, so I get to fix things. Since getting the PRs was my idea- I REALLY get to fix things. I'm trying to figure out regen on the Crystalyte at the moment. The bike works fine without it..but I...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Thanks for the help, Sir! Ok, I did the two things you listed and now, when I go test the bike, the throttle doesn't work anymore and trying to rotate the pedals produces a pulsing action. If I stop turning the pedals, the pulsing stops. I haven't changed any other settings. I have a deep suspicion ...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Hi everyone :) I'm trying to set up regen braking on my Phaserunner. I have it plugged into my CA. The brake lever is just a regular on/off brake signal that I have plugged into the ebrake connector on the CA. When I hit the lever, the little lever in the display works and the motor cuts off. Do I n...

Much thanks, Justin :) I managed to muddle my way through the whole mess..but you can bet I will be keeping that .xml file somewhere safe for when I somehow manage to do it again. Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Anyone know what Fault 13 Internal Error means? I'm trying to autotune my PR after buggering up somehow and that's the only error I don't seem to be able to find a way to clear. Also, is there a default .xml for BACDOOR that I can load to get my settings straightened out? Any advice much appreciated...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Anyone know what a 4-6 or 6-4 blink code is? I had everything plugging along fine..turned off the power, unplugged my cable, turned the bike back on and I get that blink code and the Phaserunner software won't connect now. The bike turns on, the CA turns on but nothing happens when I hit the throttl...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited r

Hi everyone :) I have a Phaserunner I've hooked up on my friends Yuba Mundo with a Crystalyte H3540. It went thru setting up just fine, no problems or errors or blink codes-but acceleration seems somewhat anemic. Anyone have any insight on what settings I could play with to pep it up a bit? My batte...

I see that my new baby is in the mail-once it shows up I'll start posting build pics and stuff-I expect this is going to be wonderfully fun! Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Using your pics as as the point of view, the drive's output sprocket will attempt to rotate the unit clockwise about the BB while turning the front chainring CCW. The mounts don't need to change if the unit will sit above the chainstays, the unit will know no difference between the chainstays and a...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Orientation is unimportant, you could mount the drive against the chainstays. Wouldn't that put the chain tensioner on the wrong (upper) side of the chain? Or are you thinking of just flipping the mounting plates over individually? On a Yuba, if I mount it low behind the seatpost it will essentiall...

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Has anyone else got one of these on a Yuba Mundo? I'm trying to figure out how I'd want to mount the bracket. It seems to me there is actually enough space BEHIND the seatpost for it, but I don't know if orientation matters here or not. Any insight would be appreciated.

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Is it possible to use Grin Cyclery's Phaserunner controller with this unit? The voltage and amperage seem like they'd be good for the LiFe batteries I have -they're listed at 48v 20 amp, but nominal is 51.2 Volts and when freshly charged is closer to 59v. With the high rate BMS I can draw at 40 amp ...

Well opened her up and took a look and found......water! Seems the last time it rained, I must not have had the bike properly covered. The lube was pretty gunked up, of course. So I wiped it all down, dried everything thoroughly, cleaned anything that looked funky (smoothed a couple of inside case i...
