500W MAC with 9FET infineon works intermittently

I bought an 500W MAC/9 FET IRFB4110 INFINEON CONTROLLER ebike kit from cell_man a few years ago. Last night the bike started to act strange. When light throttle applied, the motor makes a high pitched whine and doesn't start. If I try repeatedly, it will sometimes engage, but stop very quickly, whil...

Re: MAC front hub ebike pulls from side to side under power

Problem solved. The mechanic didn't tighten the headset when he installed the fork. Thanks for all your input.

Re: MAC front hub ebike pulls from side to side under power

To check the MAC motor, try to push the wheel side-to-side to see if there's any play in it. To check the fork, see if the fork moves up or down, side to side. Both assemblies should be totally 100% tight and not move side to side, or up/down. The MAC has no side to side play. The fork has a little...

Re: MAC front hub ebike pulls from side to side under power

how much play in the hub bearings? Dnmum, how do i check that? i just rode 15 miles into work. more observations: At the start of the trip, the pull is negligible, but as I go farther and farther, it gets worse. The steering seems 'mushy'. When using the disc brake at low speeds, the steering seems...

Re: MAC front hub ebike pulls from side to side under power

The axle nuts are very tight, and I used c washers in the lawyer lips. The old fork was a rigid chromoly, the new one is an RST Capa alloy suspension fork. Oh, and I added a disc brake with 160mm rotor. I'll check the head stem bearings. Thanks

MAC front hub ebike pulls from side to side under power

I have a 500w front MAC hub motor. I recently changed the fork and now the bike has started to pull first to one side then to the other with a frequency of about 1 to 2s, only under power. It's a slight pull, and only noticeable at 20mph and up. I bent one of the hall wires when installing...could a...

Re: Found (maybe): 1" Threaded Fork with disc tabs

Iperov, I wonder how safe that is? Some forks might not be strong enough to handle disc brakes. Good idea though. I wonder what Chalo would have to say about it...

Re: Found (maybe): 1" Threaded Fork with disc tabs

Ykick, I'm worried that they are showing a pic of a 24" wheel with 3" tires (like they mention in the description). So my main concern is vertical clearance between the top of the tire and the bottom of the crown!

Re: Suitable Suspension Forks for 500-1000W conversion kit

Currently my primary commuter bike is set up with a cheap RST Capa alloy fork. Like I said, it sucks, but the primary reason for having it is I can get off the throttle when a big bump is seen, then it functions normally and I can ride over a speed bump or whatever without breaking spokes and bendi...

Found (maybe): 1" Threaded Fork with disc tabs

I have converted an old Bridgestone MB-5 MTB to electric front hub, and have been having the time of my life. The only problem is, I ride in the rain a lot, and have had trouble stopping with the cantilever brakes that came with the bike. I'm looking into putting disc brakes on the bike, but it has ...

Re: Ping Battery horrible shipping delays.

Another consideration: given how frocked up air shipping from China is right now, anyone ordering a Ping battery might just request 6 - 8 weeks sea shipping and save $50.

Re: Ping Battery horrible shipping delays.

UPDATE: Ping shipped my battery via TNT on Thursday. I should receive it Monday. He did tell me that if customs asked, the package holds a "power supply".

So for what it's worth, ordered on 9/6, shipped on 10/18.

Re: Ping Battery horrible shipping delays.

Thanks for the replies. I'll just wait it out. I'm just impatient because I am excited about my first ebike, and the incremental delays are getting frustrating. Also, I live in Portland, OR, and the 9 month rainy season just started, and I was hoping to have at least a few weeks of dry weather to te...

Ping Battery horrible shipping delays.

Has anyone else had problems with Ping Battery's shipping? I was told on 9/6/12 when I ordered a 48V 15Ah battery from Ping, that it would be 7 days to build and test, and 10 days shipping. On 9/17/12 he tells me that it is on the way to Hong Kong, and that I will get a tracking number once Express ...

Re: Beginner controller/ cycle analyst questions.

Just a heads up Alf, Cellman told me he was out of the cells he makes into triangle packs. That's what I wanted initially too. If he starts making em again let me know. Yeah I was looking at the Sim also,.. With MTB frame at 25mph you will see ~29kw/h consumption. At 30mph it goes to ~45kw/h. Fast ...

Falcoln EV Triangle 48V Battery Pack + Bag

Hey, has anyone tried Falcon EV's 48V 15Ah triangle battery pack? Specs here: http://www.falconev.com/LiFePO4_48V14Ah.doc Looks like he uses a 50A BMS and these 18650 cells: http://www.heterbattery.com/products/lithium-ion-cells/lifepo4-battery-18650-1400mah.aspx. He claims 3C cont. discharge, and 1...
