Re: Understanding a 1200w Chinese buggy

I would try unplugging that gray wire and power on the controller
Will give this a go! Would be nice if this was all it was. Seems like something simple IMO.

Thank you!!

Re: Understanding a 1200w Chinese buggy

Hi guys. Thanks for the replies. Yes, this is not for me. It's for my kids. The machine specs 'minimum 13 years age' on it, so its designed to be more than a power wheels jeep. Though honestly, I have a power wheels 12v running at 18v and its about the same speed lol. That's why I was concerned ther...

Re: Understanding a 1200w Chinese buggy

So I located the speed controller. Photos attached. It says -DC Brushless Controller -Voltage DC48V -Current 33A -Off Voltage 41V -Throttle Voltage 1.1-4.2V Reverse So for LVC, I'm not certain its compatible with Lithium...but the Lithium I'm looking to get would be an ebike battery and they general...

Understanding a 1200w Chinese buggy

Ok, so it’s not a ebike technically, but it appears to have an ebike style rear motor. The motor is stamped 1200w-48v I’m trying to understand the machine as it seems straight forward, but I’ve got some questions I don’t understand. First question is the voltage. The motor is stamped 48v 1200w. The ...

Fuse melting...but not blowing on Power Wheels

I've got a old Gaucho Power Wheels from the early 90's ish. Originally it was powered by a 12v battery with a on/off switch pedal and high range, low range and reverse. I've kept the gear selector with high/low/reverse...and added a 1000watt 48/60v ebike controller and a 0-5v 'gas pedal'. It's now b...

Any way to verify AH on a battery?

Is there a way to verify AH on a battery purchased from Amazon? I'm looking at this bad boy...48v 24.5AH!!!! Upgrade from my 48v 11AH unit. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08X2F2DC7/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A1DQ8CBGDI0TLE&psc=1 I'm not looking to increase speed, rather reliability. So choosi...

Re: Upgrade old battery or get new one?

Thanks guys. This could be a good t-shirt slogan "One thing about a Grin battery, I could probably store it under my bed at night" lol. Thats a good point and I get the ones from Grin have to be better. I will do some soul searching (and wallet searching) and come up with a decision in the...

Re: Upgrade old battery or get new one?

Also found this guy...slightly more AH, but a few bucks less? I don't imagine it's as good as the ebike.ca unit...if anyone can give advice would be appreciated :-)

Re: Upgrade old battery or get new one?

Thank you! Found this one to be my closest choice on the ebike.ca site. My wife is not going to be happy with me lol. It's over $1000...but I suppose the AH is improved from my 11.6 up to 16.5. Is this the going rate for a good battery now-a-days? https://ebikes.ca/shop/electric-bicycle-parts/batter...

Re: Upgrade old battery or get new one?

Ok. Its a BBS02...so I think that as long as it has a BMS in it, should be good?

Where does one buy bike batteries now-a-days? Any good Canadian dealers that I can be pointed to?

Anyone know what happened to Lectric Cycle?

Thanks!

Upgrade old battery or get new one?

I've got a battery on my ebike from around 2012 that I originally purchased from Legrand at Lectric Cycle...(what happened to those guys...can't seem to find if they are still in business?) Anyhow...its a 48v unit around 11.6ah and it does not hold its charge. Is it possible to just get a new batter...

BBSHD PAS set to 1 when turning on...disable?

I'm able to program by BBSHD but what I can not seem to change is the default PAS level to 0. I've had a few BBS02/HD motors in my time, and I recall most having PAS start at 0. For some reason, my BBSHD PAS is default to 1 what is a PITA if you are not expecting it. Each time I ride it I have to re...

Factory Ebike for kids???

Perhaps its a liability thing...but i've not seen a factory spec kids ebike... Anyone know if there is any out there? My kids want an electric scooter...but I'd rather an ebike as they have to pedal ;-) And can use it for alot more than the escooter what is only good for perfectly smooth pavement. T...

Re: BBS DCP14 Full Color Screen dead??

Thanks amberwolf, Is there companies that can repair them? I tested with another screen, and the bike worked...so it if it were the cable, it would be the short 6" cable between the screen and the plug going to the controller. I'm not sure the odds of broken wires, I really didn't pull that har...

BBS DCP14 Full Color Screen dead??

I was using my BBSHD with DCP14 full color screen for a quick spin. Shut it off...then tried to turn it back on and it would not power back up. I though "aw crap, I fried the controller" or something. Luckily I had a older model C965 screen on another bike I was able to hook up to my BBSHD...

Cool. Thanks guys. The mongoose is 20” wheels what is perfect...but the price. Plus it’s missing a panel and the charger does not work. Aka the batteries are probably toast too. Wonder what it cost new? The other bike is cool too but only 16” wheels. The original link xgames bike had 20” wheels, dis...

Saw this bike on a old forum thread...looks pretty cool. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-Motobike-Boys-36-Volt-Electric-Bike/23149110 350w brushless Ebike that looks like a dirt bike. My kids would love it and a great way to get them into ebikes. I don’t think you can build your own for this price....

Re: Throttle without PAS BBS02

No PAS Level uses PAS 0 from the controller; PAS 1 uses PAS 2 from the controller; PAS 2 uses PAS 4 from the controller; PAS 3 uses PAS 6 from the controller; PAS 4 uses PAS 8 from the controller, and; PAS 5 uses PAS 9 from the controller. This is golden and what I was looking for :). I’ll test it ...

Re: Throttle without PAS BBS02

From Karl Gessleins oft consulted blog, I believe you change the level for assist level 1. Your pics show it at 0. I set Assist for level 1 to zero, in that if I went to PAS1, it would not give any PAS but let me freely use the throttle. At least in logic this is what I thought it would do. What I ...

Re: Throttle without PAS BBS02

This seems a little different than my issue... My throttle works fine in PAS, just I’m not able to rig a pas where with zero assist so I can have a throttle only mode What I don’t get is why the changes made while connected to controller ST app, don’t really apply. How is that possible and what’s th...
