Re: Shipping Dengfu E10 frame to England

Yes its sitting on my bench waiting to try and locate a M500 motor, looks really good quality and in some ways overly built. Bit chunky looking on the front downtube but everything else looks really good. Melody at Dengfu organised a deal that it came over by train and boat and took about 4 weeks, ...

Re: A minimal Q76 offroad build

Something is definitely wrong with your brake setup if you can't lock the wheel up. I have had the same rear wheel setup as yourself with Hope M4's. COuld easily lock it up with one finger. An alternative is a Crystalyte HS/HT. To be honest I am not sure how much difference you are going to feel. Th...

Re: Aliexpress. How does it work and what to expect?

Been using it for the last 6 months a lot more frequently. Love it.

Most stuff gets to the UK within 14 days. No matter what shipping says, I always think its going to be a month. Anything sooner is a bonus.

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Many thanks. I will purchase the electrode holder if/when you have them in stock.

Regarding the longer electrodes, are you able to crimp them into a bullet connector for me; so I can do a straight swap with my existing ones?

Many thanks.

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

I couldn't tell you the welding current from memory, but I will have a look this evening.

I am using 0.3mm nickel strip.

Are the new electrodes available for customers with the previous model?

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Using the kWeld for a few builds recently, but the cables/electrode holders can get too hot to touch after 5/6 welds. It takes 10 minutes or so to get this point. After calibration I am getting 3.9ohm using a 12v 90ah car battery. Is this figure too high? I am also using the previous version of the ...

GearSensor vs Pasion ShiftSensor

Has anybody used the ShiftSensor? I am guessing it is a clone of the GearSensor? This seems to be half the price, and readily available in the UK. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bafang-BBS01-BBS02-BBSHD-Gear-Sensor-Cut-Out-and-or-Brake-Cut-Out-1-to-2-Cable/253567182843?hash=item3b09c827fb:m:mngqsEIoJqxd...

Re: 52v 14s4p Hailong Case

Yes. If the case does not fit, take the lid off. At the back there are two screw posts. You can remove some of the material away from the top of the posts. I also had to remove some of the material from the charger port. If the cells are squeezed together tight enough prior to spot welding, you don'...

Re: 52v 14s4p Hailong Case

That's it, 'row' 1 first. Lay the first row down. Get the glue gun ready. Start laying 'row 2' down put place glue in between first. This is the BMS I bought. Doesn't matter how long the BMS is, you have about 20cm of room at the top of the box! :) https://de.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-51-8V-...

Re: 52v 14s4p Hailong Case

I used the same layout as the image on the first page. I used a wooden box which was square. I built the pack upside down. Line all the 'Top' cells up in one row (15 of them), push the terminals up tight against the side. Do not add glue at this point! Then, I start laying the next row, but add glue...

Re: 52v 14s4p Hailong Case

Mine is now complete, really happy with the outcome.

It is very tight though! Fitting the charger point, making sure it all closes once the lock is fitted is also a pain.

Re: 52v 14s4p Hailong Case

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Any idea why the 8 cells on the left are together? I would have thought the 2 sets of cells in parallel would be alternating (Positive group + Negative group). Something like this instead; https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EVCqOKHtbiCcIvb0Thc5fvCRqPYB-Olm/view?...

52v 14s4p Hailong Case

Started with plans for a 13s4p battery build, but as I am going to have to glue the cells I may as well go to 14s4p. I have seen the following of the Luna pack, but have not seen the other side. https://electricfatbike.files.wordpress.com/2016/03/img_20151222_0824557521.jpg Before I copy the layout,...

Re: KWeld vs Arduino Spot Welder

Many thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated.

I only have a couple of small 13s4p packs to make, and the Arduino looks to fit the bill nicely.

I was planning to purchase the 10mm2 probes that are in the shop, worth purchasing something elsewhere?

The KWeld is over €200 delivered in comparison to the €120 Arduino kit. Are there any advantage to the KWeld? Both look good for the money, but struggling to understand the price difference. https://malectrics.eu/product/diy-arduino-battery-spot-welder-prebuilt-kit-v3/ https://www.keenlab.de/index.p...
