Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Bug report! ;) I've updated from FW v3.12 to v3.13x1G today (checked all the settings and had to correct some). So far, all good, except the max speed value has no decimal dot. It reads 654km/h (my trike is pretty quick, but not that fast :D) I'm not entirely sure if 65.4km/h would be the correct ma...

Max current of 5V line of the Phaserunner v1

Hi Grin Tech, Since the maximum regulated current available to power external accessory devices from Cycle Analyst v3 is limited, I was wondering if my Phaserunner v1 can power the hall throttle, 3x hall brake sensors, PAS, etc (drawing between 25-30mA combined); if I use a 74V (20s) battery. What i...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

@amberwolf More than a year ago I've experienced this very slow throttle output of the CAv3 DPS as well. I've tried everything. It drove me crazy! Only when I disconnected the speed sensor, throttle behavior was back to normal. IIRC the reason was a defect speed sensor/broken speed sensor cable/conn...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

It is possible that something is just wrong with my setup, I will find out the hard way in low calibration mode :) There is definitely some thing is wrong with your settings. I would like to warn people away from using PAS with a DD in high calibration mode im not sure its safe, if you do test care...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited run

Hi Justin, I got a Phaserunner v1 and wonder, if I can use the blue Phaserunner brake wire to connect an in-line brake sensor (3-wire hall sensor brake sensor), to switch-off the motor. I don't (and can't) use regen and just want to make sure the motor can't run with parking brake engaged*. Are any ...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Hi Tek or Justin, I like to put the right front case button on a separate momentary switch at the handle bar*. I got the temp sensor wire on a separate cable (ex speed sensor cable of the CAv3 DPS), hence I got the yellow wire free to connect to the B2 pad of the 3-pin front case connector. -can I u...

Re: OVERCLOCKING an ANCHEER 20 inch folding ebike (Model AM001908 36V20" 250W)

Thanks for this contributions on our mods, it was very instructive. I'd love to do the same kind of thing with metal gears. In your extensive experience overhauling these small hub, where do you think is the sweetspot between speed and reliability for comuting perposes ? 72V 20A ?? No, a 72V batter...

Re: The Cycle Satiator, universal charger for the enthusiasts

Really liking the charger with my only concern being how hot it gets. How hot is acceptable? IIRC Justin stated waaay back in this thread, that the internal components of the Satiator are specified to 100°C. Actually, the Satuatore 'cares' for it self. At full power, when the temperature will rise ...

Did you receive it?

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I can't seem to duplicate the battery issue. -How are you swapping batteries (hot swap with buttons or in Console Setup)? -Is it the main screen display that has the wrong voltage or the next (Electrical Stats) screen to the right? Battery voltage in the main screen and 'Electrical Stats' is correc...

Re: My Experience Converting an ICE Trike to a DD Hub Pedalec

Do you remember what size idler would work best for replacing the ICE one with the Ginko Cage? I misplaced my old ICE idler. I'm also not sure, if my old 'toothless' ICE idler is the same as yours, or the current ICE idler. You definitely need a idler cage with 8mm hole. Check the diameter of your ...

Re: My Experience Converting an ICE Trike to a DD Hub Pedale

Torque Arms Getting the Torque Arm on was harder than I thought. I originally got the TorqArm_V4 which mounts with two cable clamps onto the seatstay tube. But the ICE Trike doesn't have a seatstay tube, just some custom tubes with a bunch of seemingly weird protusions. At first I couldn't figure o...

Re: Re-engineering the Cycle Analyst V3

Have you ever thought the the Cycle Analyst V3 could be bettered? Oh yes! Especially the wire with the throttle, brake, temp and Aux JST-connectors is a weak point in the design. I rather have a single wire running to a small external 'junction box' somewhere else on my trike. I like your new CA ba...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

So something has changed between CA3.01 and CA3.03, either hard- or softwarewise, that causes the PAS funktion to fail. Any idea? Didn't the stock setting of 'PAS direction polarity' in 'PAS Device Settings' changed from '5V-forward' to '5V-reverse' somewhere waaay back between firmware's? (old bug...

I've raised the lowDeadband threshold level and it works... better. While turning the pod, the display still seems a bit sluggish at changing the valu...

Hey Marc, can you tell us what you have for your actual min and max aux input values and what voltage you see on the aux preview screen as you rotate the potentiometer all the way from min to max? Just did a firmware update to v3.1b20 with the Setup Utility v1.44 (macOS version) and think I found a bug. ;) Since I've updated fom v3.1b10, I used a new setup file. I've got a pot at AuxA, it controls PAS level (didn't change the threshold levels). Its a basicPAS (1wire, 12pol), set to autoPAS. P...
