Re: Programming ASI Bac 8000

Can someone confirm if I'm right about BACDoor and remote programming. Real late here but I can confirm you are correct. The modbus commands used for the physical serial connection e.g. In my open source display, also work when connected to the controller via Bluetooth. They actually use the same s...

Re: ASI BAC Controllers Worldwide Vendor

Would the BAC2000 be sufficient? The 4000 is out of my price range for now. I have a BAC8000 and a QS205. Personally I would not use less than a 4000, it really is pretty well matched for the QS205. The biggest reason I like having an 8000 over the 4000 is the phase amps-- I've got upgraded phasewi...

Re: how about a 3d printer section?

No its more then that The angles aren't much, its more subtle curvatures to get flow over the item to match an expensive item I want to copy. I guess something similar would be the air flow over a plane wing or helicopter blade, or the ruter of a boat. Thats more similar to the idea I have, but I c...

Re: how about a 3d printer section?

How could someone scan in the profile of an item and replicate it on the 3D printer? Lets say I wanted to copy the profile and angles of a light bulb, or an old snub-nose glass bottle. Jay Leno had something like that, but I am sure it cost $10k+ I did this for a couple of the parts I printed on my...

Re: how about a 3d printer section?

That's a good idea, but not too sure how popular it will be. I'm late here, but have 3d printed; 1. Agnius NESE snapfit 18650 modules for a 3.25kWhr pack (22mOhm lead-to-lead resistance for 21s14p 30Q cells) 2. screw clamps to secure the battery , 3. internal mount that fits inside the front of a Q...

Re: Ampy: Open source python display/interface project for ASI controllers

In that case single/dual port doesn't really matter with respect to the display. As long as it's a JBD bms it should work with this display. Mine from ICGOGOGO has separate charge/discharge switches but only one port. At least, it does in software. I haven't tested to see if they cut out both ways. ...

Re: Ampy: Open source python display/interface project for ASI controllers

Are there upper / lower limits as to current rates (charging or discharging?) or Ah capacity per cell? That depends entirely on your BMS/controller. I'm bypassing BMS for controller discharge via 3x 100 amp MNEDC-100 breakers, and do use a 300-amp battery current limit for my 350-amp rated pack. Wi...

Re: Ampy: Open source python display/interface project for ASI controllers

Works with LFP voltage values? Still 21S max? 24s LFP for many is 87V, but for me more like 82V maximum If you use LFP you'll want to update the voltage:state-of-charge mapping, named 'socmap'. Since LFP have phenomenally stable voltage in the middle-80% of their SOC, like any other coulomb-counter...

Re: Need part options for building two e-bikes using the Qulbix DYI Moto FRAME KIT's

I use a QS205 on my Q140 frame and I like it, I can push 24kW! But if you're thinking of a non-hub, LightningRod makes a fantastic bolt-on parallel drive for Q76/140 that puts out an impressive 12kW. If you don't need more power than that (and that's a lot!) then it'll handle better than a hub; http...

With Bluetooth support coming in later, would it be possible to connect multiple BMSs at the same time? My inverter uses 15s lead acid batteries and I would like to replace it with lithium to around 52S. Cheapest way would be to use multiple 13s BMSs and hook them up just for active balancing and i...

Thanks a lot for your reply xenodius, but does that mean it wastes battery charge all the time the lock is enabled ? Re: add anti theft alarm line to controller

Not sure about your controller but Adaptto's antitheft function was something that had to be manually enabled-- and disabled with a PIN. It just used power to prevent the motor from turning. Since it only detects Hall switching it had a tendency to rock back and forth, once I came back to my bike (l...
