Re: Water Cooled Motor

There a quite a few watercooled small motor options on the market. Alien power systems offers watercooled versions of the more common ebike rc motors. The design considerations for use on a bike are always the same: does the cost weight and complexity of plumbing and radiator end up diminishing the ...

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Nice! They are quietly hanging on to some cool tech over there at QS. I tried inquiring about the 7kw and 10kw mid-drive motors but they wouldn't give up any info. Considering the short burst power of the 3kw motor I think a 7kw matched to one of these EM300's would be about perfect for full sized m...

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Does anyone know the maximum safe pack voltage for the Votol EM-150? There is a screenshot from the software that shows a drop down menu with options 48,60,72,84,96v. Those are common nominal pack sizes but does anyone know the absolute safe upper voltage?

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

What is the belt profile for the pulley that comes on this motor? Is it something common like 8mm Gates GT? They are offering it with a splined output shaft for motorcycle sprockets as well? Does anyone happen to know if these are common spline sizes that would be interchangable with common dirt bik...

Re: QS MOTOR,0.5-14kW Electric Hub Motor Manufacture China

What spline size is on the shaft/axle? Looks like it is interchangeable with common motorcycle sprockets but I would like to know which ones?

When will information be available on the 7kw and 10kw mid-drive motors.

Re: DENZEL electric dirt bike on Indiegogo. Just launched

Will be interesting to see how well that thing holds up to electric motor torque. I think step one should be machining an adapter to relocate that motor above the gearbox with a belt or chain connecting the two. That assembly looks super wide. I might have missed it but which motor is that? I...

Re: how to program a sevcon gen4

I suspect this will be a tough question to answer since there are so many experts on here with different opinions of "good enough" but I'll ask anyway. Is it possible to get a sevcon and a motor like an ME1507 purchased together as a kit and have it just work out of the box? Most of the vendors I've...

What is the kv of the small motor?

Re: New build, BHT mid-drive "direct", custom frame

Are you monitoring temps inside the motor? By the time the heat soaks through to the case it could be way too late for the windings.

Great job on the bike build by the way!

Is the cost for multiple controllers always $100 cheaper than the initial cost of the first or is that just for the 12fet?

Do all the controllers work in tandem?

Re: Single speed ebike build

The watt ratings in all if these parts are suggestions not absolute limits. You can run a 250watt motor at 2500 watts but it will get hot right away. If you keep a motor cool and its wires are thick enough there really isnt a true limit to rate the power at within reason. If your motor is 250 watts ...

Re: Adding halls to BLDC motors

Looks like the whole 5v bus is 4.33 everywhere I check. I rebuilt the hall connector with fresh pins and good crimps. That one hall in question wont read a good signal with the scope in auto. The other 2 will. When I manually set the time in the scope they all read nice and clean with the caps. I'm ...

Re: Twin / double / two brake hub

Hard to see it clearly but it appears there are 3 spoke holes per every brake rotor screw hole. Based on that it would have to be 36.

That also assumes the pic is for the actual product.

What is the distance between the spoke flanges?

Is there any shipping option to the US?

Re: Adding halls to BLDC motors

Caps worked out well. In my original test a few posts back I had the leads reversed at the meter so my noise was in fact in the off state. If the controller threshold is .8v then I can see where this noise was easily getting there. I started with just one cap from the pos to neg feed shared b...

Halls are external so they are reading through the motor can using one of these boards. I routed the wires away from the phases and main power input wires just as an added measure. Re: Adding halls to BLDC motors

Overall the signal seems to avg 5v if im reading this correctly. The on and off time looks about the same and the upper left reading is around 2.5v. Im assuming that is the avg between 5 and zero. I have an external hall board on my 80100 motor. I get some weird skips in power delivery when I hold a steady rpm under load. Help reading some Pouch cell discharge results

About 4 years ago I bought some 10Ah LiCoNiMnO pouch cells. I have kept them stored in a cool dry environment at about 3.7v.
