Re: Mosfet SWAP?

Thanks for your advice guys, I will try and upgrade by myself...as I like this kind of thing. I also wouldn't be buying stuff from anyone as I live in Shanghai and if it all comes down I'll be making the 45min drive to Savboton factory and buy one of theirs.

Re: Mosfet SWAP?

Thanks guys! while not a newb with the soldering iron, I haven't much EV experience. I could change the fets but first I am changing the battery linking cables and all the battery cables into the controller with 2x the diameter wires. We'll see if that makes a difference.Should have about 4x less re...

Mosfet SWAP?

I've got a scooter that needs a controller upgrade. It's got a box with 60V and 30A ratings. I'm going to upgrade all power wires on the bike but I'd like to mod the controller. Currently it is equipped with 12 RU75N08 Nchannel FETs. Anyone have experience like this and what fet's can I upgrade easi...

Re: Kawasaki KX125 Electric Build

Seems pretty fast for a 48v setup! So with approximately 1.9kWh on tap what kind of run time do you get usually?
I'd like to build something similar but with the new CALB 72aH cells which are smaller and lighter than the 40aH grey cells. Maybe 72v would make it really jump.

98000 erpm? Oh, I like where this is headed...I like it a lot!
Is there anything stopping us from having a 2 box system? Like one control box, and one power stage that can be any size we desire?

Run the Chain-drive and some sort of BLDC Liquid-cooled motor. That Derbi is pretty much the kind of the Scooter designs...roll with that.

Re: Electric this 250cc Quad ATV

Agree about whiny high-rpm motor, but I'd say keep the chain and sprocket. Maybe run a hubmotor in the swingarm like a 'stokemonkey' setup? He needs more raw torque to climb inclines and stuff.

I'm sorry...but I think a hub motor is the worst solution for an ATV. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Optimum number of POLES on Bigger BLDC motor

I've been doing a lot of reading in the past week concerning my inane questions that I've posed to you more knowledgeable folks. I've started to favor an outrunner construction due to the high torque to space factor. Something similar to Farfle motor. I'm curious about the use of an outrunner placed...

Re: Optimum number of POLES on Bigger BLDC motor

I hear what you're saying. My question about axial flux motor was merely in reference to the placement of the coils and the magnets. Really I'd like to build a motor for this bike. I have machining, winding of coils and all materials well sorted, I really just need a good design. Is there any open s...

Re: Optimum number of POLES on Bigger BLDC motor

That's what I'm talking about 10,000-15,000rpm motors. Let's say 25+kW, 10,000+rpm...would axial flux inrunner design be inappropriate for this? How large a diameter could I make a 10 pole rotor? :?:

Optimum number of POLES on Bigger BLDC motor

I need some help understanding something about brushless DC motors. For the example I would like us to imagine the motor size is constant, Inrunner, aluminum housing, and between 25-35kW desired output. Something that an electric dirtbike might use. What are the factors that determine how many poles...

Re: Capacitor Packs? Why not?

Sorry guys, one more question. What chemistry allows the most brutally fast charging? Good run time would be nice but I really don't care so much. Fast charge, stable/safe and high power output are most important.

Ok, thank you so much guys! However, I'm assuming that for short distances and super fast charge times, this capacitor pack idea would work?
