Re: Chargers Interfering With Each Other?

problem is the bike is built around the idea of never having to take the side off to access the battery

there's a 24 pin connector on the bike wired to all the balance connectors, and then a 24 core cable to plug into the chargers (there's a few spare cores)

Re: Chargers Interfering With Each Other?

You will need to disconnect the 6s packs when charging like this with any balance charger. The positive form one charger will be directly connected to the negative charge of the joining pack through the series connection. I am not an expert, but by unplugging, you can isolate each pack. there's 3 x...

Re: Chargers Interfering With Each Other?

chargers have individual isolated PSUs (genuine meanwells) they can charge away quite happy when the battery loom is removed as soon as you put any of the packs in series they kick up an error :-( (I'm OP's uncle) I thought about PSU isolation... so I used a couple of car batteries to power two of t...

Re: MeanWell Mods - S-350-48

thanks, I'll check R33 tomorrow and get back to you

two in series for 75.6v pack gives 9.25amp charge for 350watts
(but they're ok till about 130% right?)

pretty easy on charge rate here, give or take an amp is no big deal

I'll do the fan mod so it always runs too

thanks

Re: MeanWell Mods - S-350-48

hi, I've got two S-350-36 meanwells which I have in series, planning to use to charge an 18s pack but... they keep tripping out when I connect them up... I'm assuming it's over current limit ? if I match the meanwells/pack voltages, and then only just turn the voltage up, they seam to keep running (...

Re: Mean Well power supply problem

a quick note for anyone using multiple unregulated supplies and then 1 current limiting supply... make sure the current limiting supply has enough voltage range to cover you from a flat battery to fully charged without thinking I bought 8 server supplies and a 4v 50amp meanwell.... figuring I could ...

Re: 250v welder

just a thought... plug on the welder is a European plug, made for 230v 50hz single phase vast majority of stuff doesn't care about single or 2 phase as long as the voltage is right... but if the welder has a rectifier in it (full or half bridge?) could that cause problems ? (I'm assuming it must hav...

google capacitance charger

then you just need a high voltage cut off :-)

why not use 2 motors, make it front wheel drive, and put the batteries up front ?

should massively improve handling at speed ?

Re: Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Adaptto-noob question, I assume you don't HAVE to use the charging coil ? If you have an existing battery and charger can you just bulk charge the battery as normal and let the BMS take care of balancing via the balance taps ? Yes, it will work. But for the bms to work the controller/ display needs...

Re: SPECIAL OFFERS for ADAPTTO controllers and BMS boards

Hi Adaptto, we are having the same problem as crea2k here https://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/v ... &start=325

If we do as he did and replace resistor R113, do we keep our guarantee on the controller?

Re: Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

I was thinking of using a really high vale resistor... so I could leave it connected permanently... but the power drain through the resistor would be so small I wouldn't have to worry about it

no idea how well that would work tho tbh

Re: SPECIAL OFFERS for ADAPTTO controllers and BMS boards

H4065 is advertised as 4kw (55amps at 72v) so a min-e is enough for you (65amps max) unless... you want to push more power through it (peak) in which case a max-e would be better if you will be running high power a lot (fast take off, hills etc..) then it's better to run a max-e at lower power than ...

knighty - thanks for the confirmation, I came to the same conclusion. When I saw your screen name, I LOL. for disconnecting the charger to use the bike....

do you need to disconnect the coil etc.. too ? or can we just disconnect the PSU from the coil ?

(just wondering if I can mount the coil on board)

great looking bike - and without meaning to be patronising, awesome bike considering your age - you're 17, there's a lot of people with more than 17 years metal working experience aren't making bikes as nice as that :-) how do you find the head tube angle ? mine was about the same as yours (going by...

nice connector for the charger - I just ordered some :-)

biggest I could find are 30amp cont. 40amp for 1 min

bought a 4 pole so I can parallel up 2 pairs for my 70amp coil / probably 50amp charging max :-)

if I were you I'd be thinking about running 96v the increased rev range means you could change your cogs again, so you have 110kph top speed (or whatever you need) but also increase acceleration but that all depends on your motor/controller working with the extra power without overheating 200amps at...

do you have active on ? (or whatever it's called?)

where instead of slowing the wheel by charging the batteries

it powers the wheel in reverse to slow it

that adds a lot of heat

I don't know the numbers off the top of my head for different chemistries but you can charge at a much higher rate than normal straight after discharge so when you're bike is in use, intermittent regen breaking can be set much higher than normal charge amps... probably somewhere around 2x normal cha...
