Re: Electric Roadster

Looking great Dui! Hopefully your lockdown ends soon. In UK the rules are not you can build your own, but convert a homologated vehicle. There is a route to build your own vehicle completely but requires some stringent inspection tests which cost a fair bit of money. But yes we are fortunate in that...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F

Yes, I think that is what happens here too. I hope it wont a problem as I have a ventilation so there shouldn't be any vacuum (or pressure) in the battery. I ran in to another problem. I was mounting the display, and connecting it. When I tested it it didn't work, it only said connect bms. No obvio...

Re: 1957 Lambretta LD 150 EV conversion

Sorry, no build thread. I hade a workshop to lathe an adapter for the electric motor to the crankshaft. The motor is attached to an aluminiumplate wich is attached by screws from inside the crankcase. The frame was modified by removing a part of the tube, and adding some reinforcements. I have som ...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F

Wow great progress [emoji16] Yes Facebook is not practical for actually documenting your project. Just looking at your fill plug for the reduction drive, I'd recommend testing different oil levels as the driven sprocket is already in the oil less than half filled and too much oil could either cause ...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F

I dont know what the lookup table contains, I havent been able to find any.. It can be that it is written on an external file, that you then upload somehow. It is like that when setting encoder offset and ke. It is expensive to start fiddling, you need to buy both controller, ixxat adapter and prog...

Re: 1957 Lambretta LD 150 EV conversion

I'm assuming this is not safe. Any recommendation? Maybe use a bunch of washers to fill the gap? brake_stop.jpg No, sorry. Around the motor axle. I see there's some black spacer there, is that part of the motor? And yes the brake torque arm could be supported with a tube over the bolt and vertical ...

Re: 1957 Lambretta LD 150 EV conversion

Wow this is a cool build. Nice work and good job on the swingarm. Clearances could be tighter but some simple spacers should solve it and it isn't high power, looking good! cheers Tyler Hi Tyler, What clearance are you referring to? I only meant the axle fitting in the swingarm. But the pics might ...

Re: 1974 Vespa 125 Primavera conversion, 5kw hub motor

Oh that makes a lot of sense. I hadn't realised the scale of your battery diagram was 21700 cells either, 30Ah is a decent pack for bombing round town a few miles at a time. I'm looking forward to seeing it progress. If you've got some more photos of the frame etc that'd be great, and the motor and ...

Re: Ninja 250 "Clone" Made in China

Forgive me Dui, what is the purpose of the internal printed parts? Could the box not be slightly smaller (no don't remake it [emoji23])?

Also is it cold where you live, why so much insulation for the battery, again seems much bigger box than the battery requires.

Re: 1974 Vespa 125 Primavera conversion, 5kw hub motor

Ooh not to bad mouth your idea, it would make a great second battery location for extra range. But it is high and will be unbalanced. You are much better for space and handling and safety to put the battery under the side cover of the engine. Do you know what I mean? This will work but I suggest it ...

Re: 1974 Vespa 125 Primavera conversion, 5kw hub motor

Cool. Where does the spare tyre go? Is it out back or under the side cover? How much is seen if it? Seems you could fit much more cells in if simply fitting them behind the panel in a bigger arrangement.

Re: Ninja 250 "Clone" Made in China

DUI great find of that motor! If a new build isn't possible, best option that I suggest is do not modify the bike/frame etc. Build a longer swingarm and mount the motor directly onto the swing arm as close to the pivot as possible. Then the arm should not be too long and weight is minimal and far be...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F

That's coming along great! Maybe it is just the photo but the depth of the teeth on your front water jet sprocket looks much more than the JT sprocket, does the profile match? Longer tooth isn't bad for the small sprocket as long as it has clearance, it'll run nicely in the oil bath I believe. PS ho...
