Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I've argued for both thumb and twist. Don't know which is better personally. It's interesting to me that most motos have twist and four wheelers don't. Why is that? Clutch? No, my four wheler has a clutch. I've used the wuxing thumb on older builds and like it. You could wire up both and have option...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I'm in the u.s. Someone posted that luna wasn't going to sell the storm bee in the alta forum. Might have to ask for dealership rights? What else can Americans do to get this? I watched most of the Russian video. Looks pretty good. Four year old Alta bikes are selling for $10k used here in the state...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Saw this over at alta forum about the Storm bee being released. Has some pictures and info. https://altaownersforum.com/threads/the-storm-bee-is-out.1895/ Not really out yet, but seems like it might come out sometime. Still a year behind schedule. The minute I order the 2nd light bee, it'll be relea...

Re: Build my own winch for watersport. Broke my controller?
Bazaki- Did you ever post pictures of your winch? I can only make out that you have a hub motor in a box with the fairlead on the outside of the box using an 18s battery. How did you mount the hub to the plastic box? Need some tips for doing my own build. I have too many options and want to narrow d...

ja es passt gut unter die Abdeckung! -die originale Batterie Anzeige fällt weg. Es gibt sehr kleine Volt-displays... Ausreichend! Der "automatische EP Mode" ist ohnehin fast gefährlich. Kein Nachteil Es sind offenbar 3 Temp Sensoren, im Akku verbaut. Je 10kOhm! Hier ist eine einfache Ardu...

Kauai-
How many miles on your bike? First I've heard of the battery problems. I have had mine for almost three years now, 2,500 miles. Still get about 50 miles per charge.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
I'm going to start using that term now. I always had to specify which bike I was riding. Don't like surron, electric dirt bike was too long, ebike wasn't correct and light bee just sounds weird. Dirty bike just works.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
So, whatever happened to the surron announcement after the Chinese new year? I keep waiting on getting another bike, but would like either a storm bee or the light bee pro.
Anyone know anything? Luna is still backordered and I'm not in a huge hurry.

Posted in the cyclone thread already. I've done it and removed pedals. Cut the mount to have more ground clearance.

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?
Here's what I did to mount the cyclone to eeb frame. No pedals though. Didn't want them. Unfortunately the surron is a better bike for what I want.
Just cut down the stock mount to get it flush with the frame. Had to drill two new holes.

58 mine.jpg (446.75 KiB) Viewed 194 times Funny we had this conversation two years ago, back on page 86,87 of the thread. I'd love to see that Sur-ron Timbersled Ripper riding in a video. Could be more fun than we think. I know my local motoshop has the older Ripper 93 version for $1k, which would ...

Re: Storm Bee electric dirt bike
After recent testing of the Storm bee we have much better knowledge of the product and it’s likely production timeline. There is no point in teasing potential customers unnecessarily My big question is pricing, not too worried about time. If the boom bee ends up being $8500 USD, I will pass. The li...

Luna states Also we will support the product from here in the USA getting you any warranty replacement parts you might need shipped direct from California Don't know what that actually means, but I didn't get any of the above parts under warranty the first year that they broke. Honestly, didn't expe...

Re: Storm Bee electric dirt bike
So, where else can we buy it and get warranty with support? So far no one else has announced anything, not even Luna. As an American buyer, we get absolutely zero warranty anyway. My light bee, had front forks replaced, charger broke and mangled headset in one year. Luna said, oh well, we can sell y...

Jeisute sells the light bee and I think someone here was going to buy from them. Can't vouch for them either legit or not. Just interesting to finally see a price. I emailed them and will update if I get any response.

Re: Storm Bee electric dirt bike
You beat me on posting this. Need to search for Boom bee, not Storm bee. Found it - $5390 with $1300 shipping to the US. Total of $6690. Looks like 10% discount if bought before January 15, 2020. Sales start in February, don't know if that means will ship by then or what. https://www.alibaba.com/pro...

Seriously, fake news. Americans will wait an hour in line for a free taco, maybe two hours for a slurpee. How long would Hill hater stand in line? How long would Americans wait in line for a free tank of gas? How long did people wait when they did that throwback day with gas at $0.50? You wouldn't w...

Thanks for the post! $7k will be a decent price for this bike, $5k would still be better. This will be hard to ship, are they going to set up a dealer network or how they doing this?
Found this from the above post. Why do people still video in portrait, c'mon?!???

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
If the chart on Surron pro is true, why would they still be using 60v? Especially if it's going to hit 90kph(55mph).
Oh well, something else to wait for. Always something around the corner.

Re: Storm Bee electric dirt bike
I was hoping/wishing for $5-6k USD. Probably not going to happen. Can get used Alta for $7.5 which is still going for a premium for a defunct manufacturer. Wish I could have picked up a bankruptcy edition where I heard the Alta was selling for $5k. If the light bee is $3.5k at a third of the cost, I...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
The other thing is smaller 17" wheels with the x160 and single crown fork. Charger, sprocket and chain will also be different. You might want to upgrade everything and have it be cheaper, but you need to compare to the $5k Segway version. They released rehashed info on the Storm bee today, but ...
