Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

So stick with hub motors, whats the problem ? In my useage I would destroy a hub motor on probably the first ride, we do a lot of low speed climbing where the hub motor would be only rotating a few 10's of rpm at near full power, the heat generated would cook every bearing in it. If we used a geare...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Haven't had to repair the bosch motor yet knock.on wood and out of warranty but I know there is a bearing kit you can buy for it that I'm sure is way overpriced:) agree tsdz2 is easy to work on, I'm sure bosch will not be any different and there are videos out there to help if the need arises.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

If you run your motor at a higher voltage the it will run up to 120rpm. I have done a video on this. With Casainhos latest firmware the motor will continue to increase power at higher cadence. Agree that the stock firmware is only meant for commuting and not for off-road or racing but that suits mos...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Ok, I'll lower the battery power and see if that helps. I had taken off the "Experimental high cadence" mode and saw no difference in consumption. I'd say the Tour mode is a little below what Turbo was on the stock firmware. I saw no difference that I could tell between Tour and Speed, but the new ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Is it possible that the noise is unrelated to the motor? Did you check your drive train, may be the chain or the chainring are worn. Yeh it did sound like the blue gear but without power that wouldn’t happen, maybe just check everything is tight, like the spider and chainring, check the motor isn’t...

Best to set up all this stuff directly on the c: drive that way it’s easier to get all the paths right.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

When riding motor suddenly develops mechanical drag and display still shows torque output but probably with half of assistance for same pedal press normally. Releasing pedal/force on motor for 2-3 sec. resets something and upon new pedal force everything is back to normal. Anyone experienced simila...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Just wondering if anyone else has felt some mechanical drag at some point or another. Sometimes first thing in the morning it will be very hard to peddle and make a different noise then all of a sudden it clicks and its working properly again My gut feel is that it might be the small bearing that ho...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi Guys. I reflashed back to the modified stock firmware choosing the 52v version to match my battery. It seemed to take ok, but I still cannot get the motor to work. I reconnected the original stock VLCD-5 screen (which is fixed on 48v I think).... Have you tried using the OSF version that works w...

Re: TSDZ2 open source firmware only for KT-LCD3 (v0.19.0 / v.0.20.0beta1)

What was the last thing you did ? Did you flash anything or did it just stop working out of the blue ? Surprised why you aren't using v20b1 Btw there has been some talk about option bytes and torque lately. If you can refresh your option bytes it may fix this assuming nothing is wrong with the torqu...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

If you want the best response from a standstill with the TSDZ2 and the OSF, you need to be using a mode that is purely torque sensor based. So this could be Torque mode or eMTB mode. Using pedal power (torque * cadence) to calculate motor current results in the current being zero amps until the cad...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I use a 52V battery and most terrain I ride is hilly. I'm lucky to get 30-40 minutes of ride time before overheating at medium assist levels. I have been riding my 36v tsdz2 to work every day, I am sure that I have done well over 15,000kms by now and then only issues were the blue gear and sprag cl...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Thanks Casainho what you are doing is pretty cool. I like where this is going. So thinking about best options for the near future, I have people asking me which firmware to use and which display to buy. Although I am still on the ktlcd3 (and am very happy besides no field weakening code).. right now...

Hi Casainho, would love to hear some talking in your video to describe what is going on.. I didn't quite understand it. I assume you still need the controller and this can basically set different actions via your garmin? What I would love to see and I think you may already do this is to log gps/hear...

Re: TSDZ2 open source firmware only for KT-LCD3 (v0.19.0 / v.0.20.0beta1)

Of course it's the same signal wire but if you want a throttle you shpuld have bought a bafang, the beauty of this motor is it's torque sensor, enjoy ;) If you hold the down button while moving then cruise control will kick in and give you a rest, this should be good enough. I think the temperature ...

without a coder I'm afraid we have no choice but to go to a supported display

I dont mind the sw102 but not sure whether it can display the same information as the kt-lcd3 and whether the code is stable to use ?

Just regarding the graph above. Boost and transition... There has to be some thought going into how to implement that properly On my bosch motor if you stop pedalling just after boost comes in you literally loose all assistance for a couple of seconds which really sucks. Although it's a very short t...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Totally agree with above, my bosch cx is way more powerful than the tsdz2, when I travel up my steep hill at 25km/hr in turbo I estimate at least 800w since I can only do about 18km/hr roughly topping out at around 550w on the tsdz2. For EU the 250w is only a sustained amount of power that does not ...

Casainho has been updating the 850c code so it's pretty much in par with the 20b1 code in terms of functionality.

Not sure if it would just be easier to get the 850c code to talk with the ktlcd3 ?

Re: TSDZ2 open source firmware only for KT-LCD3 (v0.19.0 / v.0.20.0beta1)

Hey guys keep the development going. Just wondering if anyone is on top of the field weakening code that casainho has just introduced in his 860 version? Is it possible to just use that firmware on the ktlcd3 with some minor mods or do we need to understand the changes and copy them over to 20beta1?...

Sounds exciting, do you have any more info you can share ?
