Re: New "Flat-Less" Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyres for 2014

13,000 miles on the same tires? That's really impressive. I though 5-7,000 was about the most you could get from bicycle tires. I know road bicycle 700x23 tires only last about 2000 miles. I now have 17,500 miles on these tires which is 28,000 kilometres. They have never had a puncture and there is...

Re: Help with deciding on E bike

eProdigy looks like a pretty decent machine for the price... But I could find zero info on how powerful the BB motor is. Anyone know? Although, for the OP, riding in New York, and even with a lower power motor running thru that gear set, I am confident e eProdigy is powerful enough. The only fault ...

Re: Aerodynamics

I cannot express how disappointed and frustrated I am with this forum. I discover something interesting and tell people about it so that they can try it and give me their feedback. But all people want to do is discredit me as if I am trying to cheat them or get money out of them. I GIVE UP

36 volts, 8.8 amp hours. 217 kilometres at 18 kph. I am skeptical of my own figures. That is why I want more people to try them. Bill

Re: Aerodynamics

Hats off for doing the test and getting the results Bill. I try to keep costs realistic too but as any cyclist knows it's all in the wheels if you want performance. That's why they don't run fat tires in the Tour. It is interesting you are on the same track as Null winds. I wonder if we will see a ...

Re: Epik Whistler

I'm thinking of getting a Banff. I test drove one the other day and loved it. Can anyone with a Banff tell me of their experiences? I think I might wait till spring 2015 when it will be a 450 watt motor. Will all eProdigy bikes be 450 watt next year? I am the tester for the 450 watt motor and I hav...

Re: New "Flat-Less" Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyres for 2014

As some kind of baseline to compare how long tires are lasting can you give an indication of what your 'worn out' point is? Bike tyres don't aquaplane when there is no tread and I've seen tyres used down to the carcass. Bike weight will also make a difference, as can riding style. These 'variables'...

Today I ordered a new bike!! My old RMartin (Tonaro) has over 3000 miles and still running well but the battery is starting to lag. Auroroa Evelo.png Hold on there; your battery is starting to lag after 3000 miles? My battery is good as new with nearly 14,000 miles on it. I no longer own my IGO URB...

Re: Aerodynamics

Comparison tests need to keep variables the same. if you change motors or power settings, I would not include those results. Just because you use a higher power motor does NOT mean you are using more power. It's all about the load at speed. You need a Cycle Analyst or watt meter in order to do any ...

Re: Aerodynamics

The use of a drop front, basic fender might have just as much, or better, effect. Consider that, at 30mph, the top potion of a tire is producing 60mph wind resistance. Especially with a knobby tread, the determent is severe. The use of a "fairing" covering the top half of the tire and ideally encom...

Re: Epik Whistler

Hi Tessa, The Whistler came with special fenders and it was a pain to find complete fenders to fit on the bike (for a complete protection under rain conditions) with a suitable rear rack (the Whistler has disk brakes and a front suspension without the holes). Even if the price is higher, I would de...

I would love to see your results and for what it's worth, I'll share some of my findings with you. I tried extending the fenders but it is more efficient to place the flaps near the rims, even if the bike has fenders. The flaps should be one eighth to one quarter of an inch from the rim, it's ok if ...

Looks like something easy to check out on CrazyBike2. I could add some side pieces to my existing fenders and see if it affects my Wh/mile at all. I bought my last e-bike, an Epik Whistler(January 16, 2013) with a $76. upgrade to Schwalbe Marathon Green Guard 47-559. I now have 21,000 kilometres or 13,000 miles on them and they honestly look like they have no wear on them yet. Also, they have never seen a puncture. I have had 2 rear tubes pun...
