Sounds more realistic, but hardly worth the extra weight, cost and complexity.

Re: Does anyone run li-ion with no BMS and Cycle Analyst?

That's interesting. Not much drift using cells matched quality cells. Do you use a Cellog as well to monitor your pack or does the Thunder Power 1430 show you the level of your cells? No I don't use anything to monitor the cells when I ride. There was some anxiety about unbalance when I first built...

Re: Does anyone run li-ion with no BMS and Cycle Analyst?

I run a 14s pack without a BMS. I found when I had recycled cells I had problems with self discharge and drift. I'm 18 months into my new 14s 10p pack built with 18650-29E. No problems with drift. At the end of a conservative discharge of about 20Ah I've got about a .05v different from highest to lo...

Ensure you update your location in your user info.

There might be someone fairly local that can assist you welding in two new parallel groups.

Re: So I bought an Ego-Kit,the 3400W one. Worst Idea Ever. H

I would rather face that monkey with the gun then try to take that pack apart. :D so next step: once you manage to charge those 2 cell groups to 4v, let it sit for a day or two, observing the state of charge (SOC). if it holds charge, reconnect the balance wire plug and go on monitoring voltage. if...

Re: 12v pocket pack for heated gloves

You can pick up a 12v drill pack for pretty cheap. Hell just buy a cheap 12 driver kit. You usually get two batteries in the kits. Then you have a driver to use, two batteries and an elegant charging solution. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-Reconditioned-M12-12-Volt-3-8-in-Driver-Drill-Kit-241...

Re: anyone going tubeless?

The weakest link of commuting by bike, are the tires. I experimented with tubeless tires last year after getting a few pinch flats when taking aggressive turns. I used Stan's no tube kits and had an annoying issue with leakage. Once a week or so I would have to top up my tires because they would be ...

However, the legal warranty provisions also apply. If the purchased product is found to have a defect warranty claims exis...

time to peel that BMS off the top and start digging into that battery dude. Once you have it apart you can check everything at the cell level. never hurts to double and triple check.

It looks like you may have a wire disconnected. I threw the numbers you gave into excel to make sure i'm not going mad. It could save you alot of headache if thats all it was. It could be a bad connection at the plug or the cells or the wire might be severed somewhere in between 48.3 ---4 44.3 ---4 ...

I had the same experience with recycled makita cells. Unfortunately unless you do a lot of testing you are going to end up with but cells. I was down to 12s before I gave up and bought new cells.

I have a had an em3ev kit for about a year now. When I received the kit the motor axel wore a hole in the triangle bag. I let Paul know, not expecting much, but he sent me a new bag and a tester. The only thing I am disappointed in is the throttle. I have a habit of letting it snap back to zero. Thi...

Without know your application it is hard to recommend a cell best suited to your needs. I can share with you my experience. Don't waste time with recycled cells. It may be tempting given their price point but you will need to replace them much sooner. I got 1 year out of my recycled cell pack before...

I'm using an 8T with a 9fet with 3077 mosfets. I have programed the controller to 38a and have a 14s LiIon battery. I have been running it this way for months. I have the controller mounted to the front of the seat post for maximum ventilation.

I'm going to throw fasttech in this thread. After ordering other assorted things from them with good results, including two 18650s for a flashlight. I gambled and asked for a quote for 140 inr18650-29e. They came back with a price of $4.50 per cell shipped . I ordered and received the cells about two...

I emailed them and asked about 140 cells. They reduced the price significantly. And shipping was free. So what you see is what you get no hidden cost.
