Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Maybe because you can't plate everything?
This is the sphere lol.

What's grown on the sphere can't get a plate ^^

Surron "killed" the DIY Szene.
Now you just throw your money in upgrades.

on battery packs and logged drag races.....no difference in the power of the pack.

they are 15p packs and using ~300A peak

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

its fancy using copper now. the bottleneck is still the cell itself. i did alot of tests with 10-20A discharges on a single cell with nickel and copper in different thickness. copper is multiple times more conductive, thats true. but the heat comes from the cell not from the welds/nickel. i didnt fi...

Re: Ebike/emotocross from scratch. QS205-Sabvoton powered

if you wanna do "emotocross" a 17Kg Rearwheel will not be that fun as you may expect. since surrons crashed the market its very hard to beat any kind of offroad bikes. 4k, ready to go. any selfbuild ends up equal or more expensive. and if equal it is far away of the "surron package&qu...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

battery amps are fine with a bac4000 since the surron motor is a bitch. but phase amps on a bac4000 is pretty "similar" to the stock controller only. bac8000 is overkill simply because with 800+ phase amps your surron motor overheats in a minute. theres nothing inbetween. But for a QS Mid ...

bac4k too small for a "big bike"
its barely enough for a surron (phase amps)

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

Yup should be correct. incl BMS and GFK plates as insulation.

i think 20kg is a "Good" Battery weight. "We" want a "bigger-surron" and not a full size MX Bike.

so Ending up with 75Kg should be the target.

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

sure...

380 x 148 x 158 gives you a tight 20s14p of 21700
for example p42 molicels = 4kwh capacity / 560A peak power/ 20kg weight in 1,5mm Aluminium case.

or 5kwh with 5Ah cells and ~ 280A peak power

Don't copy surron battery case size. It's shit for 21700 fit.

Forget using the surron motor.
If you design something go with a proper motor like 3kw qs motors.

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

it takes some to bleed down the energy.
That "endless" Squeeking" is also annoying for me.

But you can discharge it with resistors(big ones lol) or simply with a light bulb.

Re: The Cycle Satiator, universal charger for the enthusiasts

Very good question.
I have 2 chargers. The old one never had this problem.
The new one do exactly that. Charging inside for hours gives you that moisture screen that pisses you off on your slightly expensive toy.
