Re: Sevcon Gen 4 Size 6 questions

Thank you. Funny that's the very outfit was **least** helpful about disclosing the licensing details. But they sell the IXXAT brand new under warranty, cheaper than they seem to go for secondhand bundled with a "free" DVT license but only good for the original buyer. Not willing to give any assuran...

Re: Sevcon Gen 4 Size 6 questions

I have some manuals downloaded which may be of some use Could you please share these and post / PM me the link? > The DVT software and IXXAT converter are a must though and you can buy them online. The supplier I use in the UK is helpful and can be asked for support but you will have to pay. I have...

Re: Update on my Fazer 600 conversion

So those gen4 batteries come in 8s packs, but aren't they really just 2 of the 4s2p modules crammed into 1 case? I found a source of gen3 but I'm worried I won't be able to easily wire the 8s format into 20s for a 72v system. I have installed 5 Gen 4 Leaf modules in my Thundercat, cell nominal volt...

Re: Sevcon Gen 4 Size 6 questions

Of course. I run a B2B company and we do not work with businesses below a certain size. I do not expect them to make a product then walk me through how to use, implement and configure it, step by step. Its more about having access to official documentations and a large comprehensive knowledgeable. ...

Any thoughts on the controller you are going to use for the 28S project? I am currently stuck looking for a controller that can support the power, ideally with field weakening.
Yes, I will use a Sevcon Gen4 Size 6.

Excellent work. Love the dash.

How hard did you find the Sevcon to program?
A lot of trial and error, I a lot of help from people who had used this combination before.

Just seen your post with your Gen4 Leaf modules. I am doing a 20S for my Thundercat and a 28S for a new project.

Re: Sevcon Gen4 CANbus (pdo/tpdo as digital input replacement)

In a word, yes you can receive the information of these switches over the CAN bus. Each of these switches need to be mapped, you can do that easily in the dvt software, then you have to add each switch to the tpdo. Each switch is one bit. I have mapped Forward, Reverse, FS1 and both Driveability sel...

Re: how to program a sevcon gen4

Can you post your wiring diagram and any screen shots. I had the same problem which I solved. The drawing I had for my ME1507 had cosine and sine labelled wrong and I had to swap the motor phase wires over.

Re: Controller recommendation for the Yamaha YZF600R

Check out my YZF600R build, I ended up going with the Sevcon. These are OEM grade controllers, if you have the tools and skills or access to someone who has those skills to program it then I would recommend them.

Good luck with your build I will follow it with interest.

Shame you can't get the drive sprocket closer to the swing arm pivot.
Hi Chris, I would have to modify the frame by cutting out a cross member, I have a spare frame and swing arm for the YZF600R which I can play with but that is another project.

Hi,
We are going to need a bit more information, there are many things with a Sevcon that could cause this.
Do you have the software to diagnose and monitor the controller parameters?
