Re: Cyclist vs motorist

Lol, yeah seen that on reddit this morning, bike sounded electric to me, bit of a righteous prick the cyclist, followed the car to have his say, provoking the guy, who was already wound up by the looks, good ending though, good karma

Re: Bighit 8t mac

I'd recommend the gearmotor if you keep the batteries light, you're gonna have a good time. I've cooked a lot of motors, havent busted gears in a very long time... HI deffx you and John Have some cool rides. What would you suggest if I went a gear hub on a Ekross Vector frame maybe for single track work not too much up and down and 60kph max Thanks in advance Kiwi :D Hi kiwi, I wouldn't really recommend a geared motor for serious off-road duties, it's bound t...

Sorry to hear John

Maybe it's a sign to take up hiking, ROFL

Thanks for documenting this for us

Looking really tidy now, great mechanical and electronic engineering

I like the hybrid concept, and the application of it, goodbye range anxiety

Look forward to how small, quiet and reliable you can get a generator to be

Would have loved to do the pipeline challenge myself Your kick arse with that set up if you don't shred the gears or clutch offroad Can't see it going 180km (first stage) though at 16ah capacity unless you really nurse it, or add a booster/range extender pack for that stage, probab...

Bighit looks good, love Pauls work, so much so I built my own crudely Even though sometimes I want more power, the 8t and ride quality/weight of the bighit is a real sweet spot for ebikes You love them narrow bars or is that a camera illusion How many A/h can you get in there at 18s, mine runs about...

Great bike,

I'd like to know your opinion, is the bbso2 the best commuter/trail friendly set up you've had, or was the bpm geared motor better?

Nice to hear your seriously thinking about a good offroad bike, Not many people here are into carbon, which can fail abrubtly, as we might be travelling at 60 km/h at the time but if you over engineer it, weights not realy an issue on an ebike, carbon would look great, like the audi ebike I like the...

i like this idea. but have you been thinkin about what happens when the cable/spring "hangs" ? Full Throttle on a 10KW Bike wouldnt be funny. You would apply your ebrake, or hit the kill switch I would presume, Yes maybe a 10KW bike may need something better than a cheap Chinese throttle or...

The Holy Grail is a cable-actuated pot/hall throttle that works seamlessly with ebikes and can use any ol' bog-standard motorbike throttle like changing the tablecloth.
