Re: EM3ev, setting the record straight on a few things

Many lurkers in the forum might be wondering what has got everyone in up in arms over the marketing tactics of certain vendors. Even more so when everyone is selling one specific model from one specific manufacturer. Which makes it more or less a commodity item. Although clearly Bafang enhances the ...

Re: Announcement: New Bafang 1000w, 90-110mm BB mid drive co

In fact the quality, machined tolerances and fit and finish are much better than what California e-bikes offers. California Ebike is always glad to see manufacturing opportunities take place within the USA. Pike Research indicates the electric bike industry will grow in the U.S. to over 300,000 bik...

Re: Announcement: New Bafang 1000w, 90-110mm BB mid drive co

Other than a short blog post, does anyone have any official information from Bafang regarding a 90 - 110mm BB mid drive? I find it interesting that this mid-drive would be available one month from now, but it was not announced at Bafang's booth at the Tapaei International Cycle Show last month. They...

Here's a video from Doug Snyder's testing of his modification kit. I'd say the Bafang 750w mid drive works pretty good on a Fat Bike. :-)

melodius and tundra68,
Stay tuned as a DIY package will be announced in the upcoming days for the 100mm axle. This should make it a much better value proposition for current Bafang BBS-02 owners.

Re: Bafang Mid Drive

Well clarified, thank you. Are you affiliated? Thanks r3volved and I'll definitely use the suggestion on updating the product page. I work directly with Doug Snyder as a representative of California Ebike (see signature) and speak directly with him on a weekly basis. So I'm not "affiliated" in the ...

Re: Bafang Mid Drive

Hi r3volved, I think you left out an important part, which is the machined extended axle. I assume by 'extension block' you are referring to the extension tube that is needed to secure the drive within the bottom bracket. That part is manufactured in Benicia, California. The extended axle is the pri...

Re: Where is good place to buy Bafang?

The Bafang BBS-02 has proven to be a great solution for ebike conversions. '8FUN' is the model name of the kit, but most everyone refers to it as the 'BBS-02' because there is an older BBS-01 model that is no longer available. California Ebike stocks many internal replacement parts and supports cust...

I spoke to Doug today and personally saw the fatbike on a 10 mile shakedown ride for testing. Stay tuned as the announcement with details will likely be published in the next 3-4 days. Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Very cool indeed if they finally start offering up BB kits that will do 750 or more watts! I figure if it will do 750 continuous, then 1200-1500 peak should be possible and that is where it gets fun on a mid drive in my opinion!! California Ebike is owned by a friend of mine and he offers a 750w ki...

Re: Noob building a city commuter - Feedback?

As far as the bike goes, I would highly recommend getting the bike that you would like riding even if you didn't have an Ebike kit on it. Go with something that isn't boat anchor heavy, and mount the battery within the frame. Once you mount the battery and then add cargo to the back wheel, it's goin...
