Re: 1080P mini cams, alternatives to expensive GoPro

I have a fake. I bought an extra SJ4000 battery thinking it would work but it won't work in my cheap copy.

The motor definitely needs to go to the rear and gears would be helpful so the next thing is to sort those 2 issues out. Work has been terribly busy though so there is not much free time at the moment.

Re: Super heavy total weight PLEASE HELP!!!

It seems like what is getting lost in most replies is that this is not a typical 20" rear wheel. It is a 20" rear wheel with a 4.5" rear tire. This means that the wheel is equivalent to a 24" to 26" rear wheel. Add to that the added rolling resistance of the extra wide tire and I believe that this m...

Those are great finds. No one around here sells much of value in their garage sales. It is interesting that they will throw out better stuff than they try to sell around here

Re: 1080P mini cams, alternatives to expensive GoPro

Just an FYI:

The SJ4000 is on sale starting june 8th for $66.00 for non wifi and $77.00 for wifi.

This is quite a bit off the usual price for the authentic SJ4000 so, just an fyi.

Re: Fat Bike ebike "Picker Style"

Yes, the bikes top speed is about 17mph although with the wind at my back down by the beach I have attained almost 19mph and at that point, I cannot pedal that fast. I usually just pedal around at about 10 mph and give it a little bit of juice to help out. @ dogman dan: I used to have one of those i...

Re: NEEDED : spoke info for MAC 10T in 26" DM 24

I suppose wheel building techniques differ greatly from one person to the next. But measuring effective rim diameter (ERD, the span across a rim) is an important element in wheel building in my opinion. My understanding is that the ERD can be different simply from one rim to the next of identical b...

Re: Fat Bike ebike "Picker Style"

I added this in the steel bikes thread but since it happened on the Beast, I will memorialize here as well. Yesterday, the bolt on bracket to convert a fork to accept a disc caliper came but it needed a bit of modification to make it fit. Basically, the slot needed to be widened to accept the wider ...

I have a MAC in a DM24 26" rim. The rim ERD is 547 and the spokes that I used are 194mm and 196mm. Hope it helps.

I will see if I can modify it since it was only a couple of dollars, if it breaks, then it is no big deal. I could not have been any more wrong!!!! Re: List of STEEL-framed bikes now available

The disc brake mounting bracket arrived today and I am sorry to report that, as suspected, the slot for the axle does not line up well so the strap to secure it to the fork does not line up. If you are adding a disc to the non-hub motor wheel, then this would probably work but it is unlikely that yo...

Need a Mongoose Dolomite 36h front hub

Hello, On the off chance that someone actually visits the "Items needed" section, I need to convert a Beast to use a front disc. So, If you have converted your Mongoose Dolomite to a front hub ebike and have the front hub with IS disc mounting holes laying around, I would be interested in buying it....

Chalo wrote:Front and rear disc brake mounts have about 4mm different lateral spacing, as well as different axle-to-mounting-bolt distances. Front and rear disc hubs have different dropout-to-rotor spacing. They aren't interchangeable
That is good information. Thank you.

Re: Fat Bike ebike "Picker Style"

Thank you Chalo. Last night I gave serious thought on how I might mount the q100h in the rear of the bike to do away with the coaster brake all together. It would be a bit of an ordeal but I figured out how to do it. One of the reasons that this bike was chosen over the Dolomite or the new Mongoose ...

Re: 1080P mini cams, alternatives to expensive GoPro

I have a fake SJcam but knew it was fake when I got it for $40.00. At first the video was quite lousy with a pauses, blurred sections and sometimes it would record only half the screen and the other half would be black. After doing research, I found that the crappy card I was using was too slow reco...

Re: Fat Bike ebike "Picker Style"

here are some pictures of the bike. I ordered a bolt on disc brake bracket for the fork. If it doesn't fit, I will make one. Re: Fat Bike ebike "Picker Style"

Lucky brake (yes pun) but it is not funny. That is the problem with coaster brakes and it could have been a kid blowing down a hill at 20 mph. Brakes are not supposed to fail, even on low-priced Walbikes.. otherDoc Too true. After I reconnected the coaster brake, the there was a lot of play in the ...

Re: List of STEEL-framed bikes now available

I ordered one of the disc brake brackets but they are all over ebay for less than $4.00 so $20 seems a bit steep. The only concern that I have is that if the part slot that goes over the axle doesn't line up nicely, it will be useless. These are usually going on wheels that have round axles so they ...

Re: Snapped off my rear dropout!

All you need is a $10.00 piece of 3/8" steel sheet from Lowe's or any other home improvement store, a hacksaw, drill, drill bits, and a file and you can make your own drop outs and bolt them onto that frame. It really isn't hard; just time consuming. If you have more time than money, go that route. ...
