Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Have you disabled also the online current sensor calibration ? This one can run away and cause problems after a while, if turned on. This one can be disabled in the currents menu I think, something about current sensor calibration when current under ..A Are you referring to menu o) online Kv, L and...

Re: Another SMD lebowski PCB
That may have been Lebowski's original through hole design that uses the 40 pin dip package.

Re: Another SMD lebowski PCB
What procedure would cause data to get saved? And why would you not want it to be saved? Also, I'm pulling SETUP to ground, which is pin 38, not pin 19. I'm assuming it was carried over from a previous design. The posted schematic shows setup on pin 38, where do you get pin 19 from ? If ...

Re: Another SMD lebowski PCB
Have you followed the correct proceedure to put the chip into setup mode: "The chip can be placed in the setup mode by closing the setup switch connecting pin 19 to ground while resetting the chip. Upon entering setup mode a keypress on the PC is necessary before the chip displays the main setu...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Strange thing is that if i only reduce resistance R then motor becomes powerfull while still retaining the kick at transition. However if i also reduce the L value my transition becomes more managable. Not perfect but with L at 120uH and R at 48mohm i get better pullout and quite good power. Car is...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Finally new mount is in. It was done propperly like i should have done before  https://leafdriveblog.wordpress.com/2020/11/10/busted-rear-mount/ Now i tried again with 220uH and 100mOhm setting and i found out that motor can start rather smoothly although minimum power. Then at some 45km/h (m...

Re: Another SMD lebowski PCB
Apologies to all that have downloaded the build files. Please do so again. Whilst building a board for member Pentti M Reku I discovered that there was a typo on capacitor C20 which is 4700pf NOT nf. Also the footprint for the LM5017 in the schematic was mirrored. The PCB layout is correct. The file...

Re: Another SMD lebowski PCB
Neither, you program the chip yourself with a PicKit2 or 3 via the programming header on the BobC board. The firmware was released by Lebowski a while back as open source.

Re: Another SMD lebowski PCB
Attached are the updated KiCad files and build instructions. Change the file extension from .txt to .zip. A big thanks goes to whereswally606 for keeping this project alive. Massive credit to Lebowski for the awesome firmware and design changes to the 15V power supply. I have the PCB's made at OSHPa...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Hi I tried to use 230mH and 100mOhm. Car started fairly well, but a second into acceleration controller reduced power. I couldnt get it to pull continuously through. This was with sensors assist off. But then if i reduced inductance to some 150mH i could get a good start, but again controller would...

Re: Another SMD lebowski PCB
This is the latest iteration with a compensation network added to the 15V supply and a few minor spacing changes. I should have the build instructions updated and typos fixed later this week and then Whereswally606 will post the design files.

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Hm... interesting. Last weekend i went on and started to calibrate like you said. Over 100 samples patiently collected with small steps of +/-1,5deg. Curiously the final value kept moving away from me in steps of 1 or 2deg. Then finally i lost my patience and commanded a 10deg step. I collected mor...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Also i see you have entered -13.6deg correction but you managed to get sensors to 0error? Can you confirm that i need to set the correction in option g) and recalibrate sensors untill i get 0 average error? My dev is usually at 20deg :(. Will try like you say... Yes , if you look at the Nissan Leaf...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
I will try to tune out Hall sensors like you propose. I get a feeling the value has drifted a bit from last time i observed. I am using RLS RMF44 sensor chip and magnet on the end of shaft. I zeroed out the sensor when i built it in but now i dont have enough access to attempt to zero out the chip ...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Another update.... I stil got various shakes in the motor before mode 3. Now i tried to change various control parameters and without luck i started to shift my thinking from 3rd gain parameter of mode 2 to the whole picture. This is menu g. First i corrected the 2nd gain parameter under option f t...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Here are my settings in hex format. I have changed the g menu value to 5 and i think i get smoother takeoff. However when i played with throttle curves i got different results from same settings. Strange. My throttle is 1.3 3 0 My regen is -0.3 0 0 Doesnt that mean it is ok? 1.3 - (-0.3) is essenti...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Really good. I noticed that menu "l" sub "e" PLL bandwith causes control loop to behave differently. I actually got little better results by increasing it to 120Hz and i also increased dampening in "l" sub "f" to 0.85! What did you set sub "f" to in...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Please tell me what parameter you did setup for a smooth start. Right now i have very good pull after 10km/h and insanely good after 30km/h. But before that from standstill there is some shaking like motor couldnt decide to which side it wants to turn to. Lowering the transition further wont do sin...

Re: Ampera/Volt inverter with Lebowski brain
Exactly! CV shaft was rubbing on the edge of CV tripod casing. Whenever the three lips of the casing would come near the shaft on the underside they would rub on it. In time this would have destroyed my shaft. As it is now everything now works and i am trying to tune up the transition like Arlo sai...

Great news. Does that mean that those rumbling noises you thought were coming from the leaf motor were mechanical all along and nothing to do with the Lebowski parameters?

Re: A2B Metro gen 2 motor number of pole pairs different stator and magnet count
Does that make it 8 pole pairs since it has 16 magnets? The picture is the only one I could find and this has the internal controller. Yes, that is correct. I believe the motor is the same in both gen1 and gen2 but fechter is the resident A2B expert so he may be able to confirm. My gen1 A2B motor i...
