Re: Forum upgraded and new emoticons

Neptronix summed Tapatalk up pretty well. Primarily, it provides a fast, clean and streamlined way to access forums through a mobile. There are other benefits, but they are secondary to those already mentioned. FYI, Android features a voice to text feature that can be used in any app if that's what ...

Re: Forum upgraded and new emoticons

Just noticed something strange that might have something to do with the missing API key. Each time I close Tappatalk, Endless Sphere disappears from my list of followed forums and I have to search for it, 'follow' the forum, and log in again. Ok, i found and entered the old tapatalk key. Would you ...

Why not use a puncture repair kit/patch, then you wouldn't need to remove the wheel at all?

Re: Build your own charger

That is why the LED supplies are more valuable and better choices as lithium battery chargers. They have true adjustable current and voltage limiting, as well as being sealed and potted against water intrusion. At least most of them are that way. Sealed and potted = NOT serviceable. No thanks! You'...

Using the same action on the throttle for acceleration and braking is unsafe, so there is no plan to support that.
What is your reasoning behind this statement? Grin seems to have successfully implemented this very feature and I haven't heard of any safety concerns either in theory or practice.

I could be wrong, but I think the controller in that kit is a 12 FET.

Re: Smallest controller?

Does a smaller controller exist? Sure it does, but to a degree, the size of a controller directly relates to how much power it can handle. Unless you're willing to spend more than the cost of that complete kit on one, a smaller controller would leave that motor feeling totally gutless.

Re: New owner of CA3 and having an issue with PC Setup Utility

Hello, Truly enjoying my new CA3-DP. Over the weekend I installed a Sempu torque sensing BB. The CA3-DP has ver. 3.1B13 of the firmware, and it does not have Sempu listed as a PAS torque sensor. I've been attempting to connect the CA3-DP to a PC, so that I can upgrade the firmware and have been rec...

Re: Opportunity Charging in the UK/Belgium/Holland

Hi Troy I followed your 4400 mile US cross-country trip in 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed the regular vlog. I felt inspired to do something similar within the UK, but that plan was scuppered when the young'uns came along shortly after. When I looked into the viability of outdoors guerilla charging with...

For now I find it difficult to decide between various controller provider.
I see it as an easy choice. If you want a true FOC controller, choose the Sabvoton. If you don't, these Powervelocity controllers represent better value.

Re: Best motor setting for cargo bike

It might sound a silly question, but why do you seek to improve efficiency? Why is your bike not efficient enough as it stands?

Surely the real issue is the lack of power. In that regard, how much gain do you expect from a small geared hub motor when you're already running 3kW?

Re: Best motor setting for cargo bike

I can just increase the throttle input and it would just increase power on my controller. I just tried to pull 100A and my battery voltage went down from 59v to 50v. I think at 50A it goes down to 55V from 59v. So it's a bit saggy but it's ok. I don't have temp monitoring on my motor but I know the...

Re: Best motor setting for cargo bike

My controller can do up to 350A. It's enormous. You could always try temporarily reprogramming a higher current to see how the motor responds. If you don't get the performance increase you expect, it might suggest a battery issue. My battery can probably do 80A at 60v What's the voltage sag of the ...
