Re: PSA, enertion FOCBOX's are only rated for 100 miles before failure
I want every detail of your settings you used for your setup especially because you have a 10S4P pack capable of 60 amps. Judging by your response it looks to me you are somewhat knowledgeable on the FOCBOX's operation, but not enough to know the downside of surpassing those limits if you manage to ...

Re: Direct VESC V4.12
I'll have to post this notice since it seems to be only mentioned on esk8.builders site. Ollin has stated he will no longer be producing components for the DIY market and moving towards completes. So it's bye-bye all the high quality VESCs from him.

Re: Meepo Board
It's off topic commentary I am going to type out. After electric-skateboard.builders site was made, all the "big players" in the custom board went from this forum to there. I stop by this forum because it has some good ideas. If anything we all advocate for the use of a VESC speed controll...

Best news since the VESC 6.0 Project Started
The new VESC tool has been released on http://www.vesc-project.com/.
Here's the discussion going on at http://www.electric-skateboard.builders ... d/32268/81
Edit: There's still some issue regarding the use of the tool with hardware version 4.12

Hi, Back to technical Questions - Does the VESC6 have a onboard antispark-protection (if so does it have remote on/off pins ?) - how many Farad do the capacitators have ? and now some other Questions again: - when/will? the new bldc-tool software be free for downloading, will it be compatible to th...

Re: VESC 6.0 Update
Nothing is release yet for VESC 6.0. A lot of drama went down about how Trampa has first grabs, but most of it was Vedder's decision. So yeah, the Beta phase is over and we're all just waiting for the release.silviasol wrote:$300! Where are the gerber files and bom? I can make my own.

Re: Enertion - One Big Con?
From all the stuff I read regarding the positive comments and negative comments. Enertion gets 2/5 stars for spotty customer service. I have not bought anything from them. I actually use a 4-star scale when reviewing stuff. The fifth star is the unexpected category from me.

Re: Fliess | 65kmh+
I like what you did with VESC controller. What are your comments on switching from a 7-pin MOSFET to the 3-pin MOSFET, any pros and cons with the design decision you made over two VESC on one PCB? I can understand that your orientation of the MOSFET allows for better cooling. Just so you know, VESC ...

I would not advise JB weld. People suggest it but no one mentions it has iron filing in it. It may not help with the performance of the magnets if you were to reattach them with it.

Taken from Vedder's forum I understand that waiting is frustrating, but I'm really trying my best with everything. Currently I'm also working on a website dedicated for the VESC project where I'm putting all the information about the plans of the project: http://vesc-project.com/ If you don't log in...

Re: Looking for wide hangers for Caliber II dual rear 6374s
To be honest. You will have to find someone who can make you the hangers. At a minimum width, the hangers without the axles, have to be 11 inches to ensure space for two 6374s on one hanger. I'm not trying to take over OP's post, but to show as an example it can be done. I show my custom milled 10-i...

Obviously, this is out of the main topic, but how did you make your forge? I've been trying to figure out whether to go with bricks, insulating wool, or castable refractory and the only place I can get this stuff is Harbison Walker.

Re: 10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!
Are the gerber files and stuff out yet for the vesc 6 or is he still working on it? Not yet, there's an ETA Vedder will make it available during Q1 2017. Considering the first time the VESC was shown before released in a format for this community to use, I give about the last two weeks of February ...

Not for li-ion batteries where high current draw, but definitely for low current draw like portable battery banks I suppose.

By general consensus per CC licence guidelines. Stuff can be shared as long no one is making money off of it. Enforcement of those rules is binding in the "community" sense in hopes of disseminating knowledge to the mass, but frowned upon if you copy stuff without citation of source. It's ...
