Re: Programming the Bafang Middrive BBS01+BBS02

are the bbs01 250w and 500w the same model but programmed with different max amps ? i.e. if I get 250w and reprogram it to allow up to 500w will I have the same perforamnce as with 500w motor? I haven't seen that yet, I don't think. If you buy the 500, you can wind it down to 250, but the other way...

Re: New Bafang Crank- DRives

These are the Torker 170mm cranks on my bike. The pedal threading is much better, and they are triple forged so stronger. Also do not work themselves loose like stock cranks. They looked pretty good in the pics I found, and for the price, they certainly seem good. The silvers are cheaper, but I lik...

Re: New Bafang Crank- DRives

I wish I brought 2 171 dev kits when Utah Triakes had them for US$110 (IIRC). I haven't used the 1 I did get yet, but I have an N360 on my commuter with a front hub, and I'd not go back to a deraillier - I ride country roads and all the grit and dust plays havoc with them, plus it's so hilly and var...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

To most, 32kph doesn't sound like much but it doesn't take much to drag your average down. We live in a small town, but we live in the countryside just out of town. The average speed on my wifes CAR is only 37 km/h! Rush hour here means it takes 20 minutes to get home (right across town), instead o...

....any goods imported that cost over $1000 is subject to GST and import duties in Australia.... Hopefully, it's like NZ Post - Customs etc: It's been pretty hit and miss as to whether i get charged. My BBS kit (no battery) got no GST charged, and ours in NZ$400 roughly or higher. I've even had mas...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

The red circle is the connector you pictured. No? It is NOT the program port. The green oval and green connector is the programing access. I have a different connector on my LC kit as well but it does not affect the programing with the proper V2 display extension cable. Damn, I just took photos whe...

The BBS02 will be offered also as a 36v variant if I understand this advert right: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/LATEST-VERSION-36v-500w-8fun-bafang-bafun-motor-BBS-02-Center-mid-drive-Crank-Motor-eletric/1780765540.html Ruediger (= Roger) I don't think I'd rely on an Aliexpress blurb for an accur...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Another good option is a Nuvinci CVP. You can get the developer's kit with the autoshift & older model N171b hub for $125 from Utah Trikes. http://www.utahtrikes.com/PROD-11617994.html They will even lace it into the rim of your choice for a reasonable price. In my opionion, the Nuvinci CVP with th...

Yep... had it on Ebay too - they offer to "resend" the item... but waiting puts you over the 45 days - I just lodge a dispute a few days before the time runs out now.

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Now, Question: Does anybody have a measurement for the maximum allowable Bottom Bracket Outer diameter? My "Frankentractor" is a cut/shut/weld/hack type bike, and I can either use the existing "One Piece" BB housing with an adapter to reduce the ID, or while welding it up, I can cut the existing one...

Re: Whats up with these chinese ebikes currently - scam?

You only have 45 days to lodge a problem with PayPal. The scam is: they "send" you an item, and when you don't get it, they offer to "send" another one immediatly. By then, you've forgotten to lodge a dispute. Easy money. It also pays to be aware that PayPal is pretty much a scam in itself, and you ...

New to E-Bikes and the forum

Hi all, I've been lurking here for a short while and decided I wanted some of DoctorBass's torque arms 8) Over the last week, I've added a 36V 500W direct drive kit from Vpower.hk to my Milazo X-26 Attitude - a really cheap full suspension bike I've had for years. I'm doing it very much on a budget,...

Re: Doc's ULTIMATE TORQUE ARMS fit most of the frame UPDATE

From that I can confidently say you wont need torque plate as strong as this one... but If you want one for the future upgrades then you could bolt it on or epoxy it. Drilling holes on it would be a challenge though Yeah, that's what I thought, but the other options are stupidly expensive in compar...

Re: Doc's ULTIMATE TORQUE ARMS fit most of the frame UPDATE

I just PM'd for a set too :-) So this is my first post - I'm just building my first E-bike in the lounge at home  It's only a direct drive 36V 500W rear setup from Vpower.hk so not all that powerful anyway. At first I thought these trque arms looked to tiny to work, but I saw that picture with...
