Re: Quantya Upgrade Build

dan974, that' a lot of information and not only good news. Thank you for preparing me for what is coming up on the upgrade to 20s. I don't know if understand all of your posting  but I will have a look at the brushes soon. I thought there will be no major problems as the Quantya did only 963km...

Re: Quantya Upgrade Build

Hijacking boogiemate's thread, maybe he will post updates 8) Got the Quantya registered, it's now road legal, and it is great fun. QuantYEAH! quantYEAHsmall.jpg With the smallest rear chainring I got, top speed is now 85 to 90kph fresh off the charger. Lost quite a bit of acceleration, will gear dow...

Re: Cycle analyst-can't get my throttle smooth?

I don't think so, but I am not an expert. I got the same behaviour you described when I first tried the current throttle, but forgot to reduce the max current. Instead of that I turned down the Again parameter to control acceleration, with the result of oscillation. It took some iterations until the...

Re: Quantya Upgrade Build

I am not as ambitious as the thread starter  100kph top speed would be nice. Commuting to work is 20km one distance, and I can charge there. 10km from home I'm in the outback (woods, gravel "roads") where the fun starts. Now the battery is 14s 40Ah, I got enough cells to build anothe...

Re: Quantya Upgrade Build

Any updates?

Bought a Quantya with a dead battery & bms, replaced the cells, mounted the longest gearing that came with it
(large motor belt sprocket and rear 48t sprocket), but a little more top speed would be nice.
Next step is upgrade to 20s.

What kind of battery do you run?

Re: Cycle analyst-can't get my throttle smooth?

If you are using "current throttle" you have to set the maximum current to the limit of your controller or slightly above (in "power settings").

Re: Hubmonster teardown

Take a close look on the connector shown on the last picture. Are there numbers from 1 to 10? Pins 1 to 5 are for the first set of halls. On mine there was a "nose", a hook that secures the connector. First set of halls is on the side of that hook. Should be the cables on the right side of...

Re: $14.99 72v Sunwin Controller

Well I guess I should actually use one of my 2 sunwin controllers for my MXUS 3000W. i'm curious about your results. i could not get the mxus 3k working with the 72v 1500w controller in sensored mode. tried multiple self detection runs. it runs fine but i have to pedal the first meter(s), otherwise...

been there, done that 8) all i can say it works with an internal magic pie 2 controller, i added another 6 fet of same spec (75pf something...) to the 6-fet-controller, and a massive heatsink. just wired one fet parallel to each existing one and tried to keep wire lenght equal. worked like a charm t...

Re: $14.99 72v Sunwin Controller

I bought two 84V 1000W controllers from sunwin (one as spare) for my bicycle. The label says "SH84U35GV15T-WZ3". Both have immediate start, no delay. Stock current limit is Speed I: 33-35A (oscillating a bit) Speed II: 50-51A Speed III: same 50-51A. so Suggs may be right when guessing the ...

... why my wheel is not running round. :) Andy, when you took apart your "Zauberkuchen", did you mark the side covers, how they came off? You should assemble the side cover in the same way they came off to get it running round. If not marked, unscrew the nine little hex bolts on one side ...

wouldn't it be easier to modify the throttle signal with one of these switches

was discussed in another thread, can't find it at the moment.

you can easily switch back to full power when out of the mud hole

Re: MagicPie2 20" Hotrod Project with 52T Hammerschmidt

Both current and voltage indeed alter it's direction! A BLDC motor is nothing else than a synchronous machine or PMSM. The "BLDC" term is just for marketing. In fact it has nothing to do with DC at all. Read for instance: http://www.control.com/thread/1026172925 crossbreak, you're right. ...

Re: MagicPie2 20" Hotrod Project with 52T Hammerschmidt

Anyhow, aren't you building something illegal already? The idea is to use this with an "experimental license". You can get a red license plate here in Germany for such purposes. Still, I have to take care about legal issues like the 50V AC. 3-phase AC is still AC. I'm not sure yet how our...

crossbreak,

i'm following your build thread and like to see the pie getting converted to delta.

if you don`t need the internal controller board anymore, i would be interested in buying it,
as you need money for your fourth bike

Re: Do many of you use Golden Motor?

I've got a magic pie 2 rear wheel kit with internal controller. Done about 1000 kilometers so far and I like it. It is easy and "clean" to install because if the internal controller, less wires than exsternal controller. The build quality of the internal controller is not good at all. Ther...
