Re: Raptor build - pre build stage

Crikey - more than 2 months since I've posted on my thread...I really have been a wee bit busy of late. Anyhoo...bit of an update for those that care (mum...you reading this... :D ): Have decided to go with the 140 frame (was always going to use 18650 cells, moto seat and wanted pegs) and I believe ...

Oh, did I mention it's Christmas in July and Santa has just been :) Well...someone been more nice than naughty eh... :D Love the moto bars...and those brakes sound like a cracking idea, if I hadn't already invested in some shimano saints I'd be all over them! Keep us posted on progress my good man!

Re: Hyena's e-bike builds (now with HD video)

I was looking at these suckers back in April - http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=59216 - 4th post down. Didn't get much feedback on them...and as they didn't fit my colour scheme (bike tart I know) I discounted them. The colour will go perfectly with your Raptor 140 frame though -...

Re: Qulbix, was Torque Raptor ebike + frame kit

Only downside with freight forwarder is less likely to fly under the radar from an imports perspective...and they charge more than just the postage...even Shipoitto. Would prefer to fling a fellow ESer a few quid if required and get it forwarded in 'plain packaging'. If no one can do then I'll look ...

Rightio - I've been a bit quiet of late...just trying to line all of the remaining parts up for the build and then get cracking. I've identified some forks @ Jenson cycles however they won't post to Oz - anyone still willing to be my drop shipper. Mammalian...I know you put your hand up some time ag...

That definitely is one very good looking and exceptionally functional frame - props Samd! Just a quick query, what's the dimensions on the battery box? Re: Qulbix Raptor 140

Mammalian - why don't you just stick the controller inside first and fix it to the frame - it doesn't need to fit inside the opening together with the battery as you should just fix it in once. Remember, you have frame space above and beyond the actual opening...and as the controller and battery are...

Yeah...never good if they're a bit obnoxious...doesn't help the EV cause... The guy I saw was right to the side of the road so wasn't effecting traffic or pedestrians...might have had a car door opened on him though...but we all run that risk. Made me think about building up a board at some time tho...

E-skateboard down hay street in East Perth

Was just wandering down East Perth at around lunch time today and saw a dude spinning down hay street on a powered skateboard..if you're on the forums, just wanted to say it looked cool dude. Think it was being driven by a wii nunchuck...but can't be sure.
Respect!

Thanks for the detailed feedback Offroader - that's what I expected. Ecruz also enlightened me a little earlier...
Suspect I'll be springer for a new fork sometime soon...need to make sure we got all the steerer length.
Oh well - budget was blown anyways...

Re: Qulbix, was Torque Raptor ebike + frame kit

Quick change of subject for all you Raptorites...would a 167mm steerer length be enough on dual crown forks for the raptor? The head tube length is listed at 150mm on Qulbix site so I'm thinking 167mm doesn't leave much room for spacers, stem and head set. I accept the head set doesn't take any len...

Hmmm...interesting. I've not even received my frame yet and could be regretting not holding off a couple of extra weeks... I guess the only 'issue' I would have with width is not sure if it will fit 2 18650 cells lying down...? Also wonder if it might not look a bit too 'stocky' from a side view ang...

Hey guys, someone sent me an article that made me tickle, for those of you not aware of the SLS Mercedes Electric version look it up on Youtube. I has 750HP and it uses 864 batteries. So I am putting over a third of that on my raptor LOL looks like the final count is 308 VTC5 22s14p is the new max ...

Re: Qulbix, was Torque Raptor ebike + frame kit

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles Offroader! It sounds like I need to get my butt exercising on a treadmill to make up for some battery weight. Luckily for my weight loss plan, ordering individual parts is a huge P.I.T.A. and seems to be taking forever........ I went for a ride today and actually ...
