Re: Cheap trekking aluminium ebike with 34Ah

Amazing job, I just was waiting impatiently for a tumich build! :D it is a insane range for such compact battery. did you used the 40 cells bosch holders? How much weight stand you rear rack? Thanks for sharing Thanks :) 84 cells *45g=3,78kg BMS +fuse is lightweight like air ^^ I used 10 cells hold...

Re: What is the status of solid state batteries?

Nobody is mass producing this stuff as far as I know yet, but it's been done on a small scale. This is something of a holy grail since solid state electrolyte should eliminate the formation of the SEI layer, the primary feature responsible for cell degradation under normal use. In other words, soli...

What is the status of solid state batteries?

Recently we heard that Dyson invested $20M in Sakti3, a battery company focused on solid state battery technology. Does anybody know if they have made some kind of breakthrough yet? What about the status of solid state battery technology in general?

Re: Tesla Powerwall $350 / kwh Retail

Does anybody know about the difference between the 10 kWh and the 7 kWh versions? The larger one is said to be "optimized for weekly cycling" and the smaller one "optimized for daily cycling." What is it precisely that will prevent me from buying a 10 kWh and cycling it daily? If you want to have 30...

Tesla blog confirms giga factory, lays timeline

It's old news now to a lot of us but I didn't even realize until today that Tesla had officially confirmed their intentions to construct a giga factory via the Tesla blog. In the blog post, published on February 26, they offer a brief overview of their plan: As we at Tesla reach for our goal of prod...

Re: need guidance in vibration proofing

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, I really appreciate it. I no doubt would have mounted my charger on my bike if I had not asked about vibration proofing. That will save me a lot of frustration. Where is the battery pic from? Looks awesome, and I need to know! That picture was taken...

The most ideal BMS for LiFePO4

Hey E-S I am building an electric bike soon. I have decided that Headway LiFePO4 cells are going to be the best choice for me because they are safer than Lipos. I really want to have a battery management system but I don't know which one I should use. I have been lurking for quite a while and have s...

need guidance in vibration proofing

Hello E-S I am building an e-bike out of necessity due to some rather unfortunate events, and I am pretty sure that the only frame I will have at my disposal will not have a lot of shock absorbing capability. As far as I know there are only two components which are really vulnerable to vibration dam...

This giga factory will change the tide in the EV ICE battle, regardless of the kind of cell that it will produce. I personally believe that this factory will be remembered for a long time.

Re: EV'sWillDisruptAutoIndustrySoon-TeslaHugeBatteryPriceDro

Tesla's "Giga factory" for batteries... I would not want to be the decision maker for this. Musk has to commit to a battery supply in order to ensure he can support his business plan for car sales,.. but battery / cell technology is changing fast. Even Musk admits it will be dramatically different ...
