Re: E-bike kit?

Test drive first.
The manufactures lie through their teeth about speed range and anything else.
DV8 offers very good advice.
The Kunteng controller offers very good peddle assist coupled with a mid drive motor. Power and speed that will work with your smallish battery choice.

After stuffing the largest phase conductors through the drilled out axle hole in my hubmotors.
I would not be able to install ribbon cable.
I use what Spinningmagnets recommends small diameter hi temp teflon wire.

Re: How to improve my friction drive situation?

I have tried friction drive on ICE motorized bicycles. You need a grippy smooth center tire. Grip tape or powdered abrasive glued on to the driving wheel. Perfectly dry roadway .Large forces pushing the drive roller into the driven wheel. The more power you try to use the more the drive wheel acts li...

Re: Building Electric Bike "Im Stuck!" :( what crank do you

????? A Freehweel rear sprocket is what I use. They come in many sizes and multiple speed ratios commnly called speeds like a seven speed freewheel ETC. I sometimes use a freewheeling crank from sick bike parts as well as a rear freewheel. High speed belt and suspenders for my safety. If the freewhee...

Re: Salvaged EV cells index, Leaf, Volt, Tesla, etc

I bought four used leaf cells in 2015. In 20017 one of the single pack cells went bad. The group of four cells only charged to twelve volts. I bought a new four cell leaf battery. This is the place I have bought my leaf batteries from. http://hybridautocenter.com/HAC4/index.php?option=com_hikashop&c...

Re: How Often are Torque Arms / Axle Flats Used? Need SWXK H

I use a 1000 watt PLUS modded front hubmotor mounted on a steel front fork with wesnewells dual nuts, one inside and one outside, and a 1/4 inch torgue plate.
I do not want to have the front wheel falling off due to spreading the end of the fork.
Post picture of your partial flat front axle.

Re: Yescom 36v 500w hub kit with 12s lipo no throttle respon

I am running a 16s 1p battery that can be charged to 67.2 volts through a standard 1000 watt 48 volt yescoma controller. 4.2 X 16 =67.2 . At any voltage over 60.5 the controller will protect itself by NOT working. I undercharge my 30 ah leaf batteries . I get less runtime. I should buy a 60 volt sin...

Re: Yescom 36v 500w hub kit with 12s lipo no throttle respon

I was running too much voltage into my yescoma hubmotor when I first tried to test it. The high voltage cutout was the fault. Test and post the exact voltage from the freshly charged battery. Also check all connections, unplug and look at them then plug them back in . There is a red push button on t...

Re: Will my front fork setup hold or failure?

I love your Cargo bike. I have had hose clamps fail because they are not made to handle the loads you are exposing them to. They are made to secure HOSES to nozzles. Please consider using properly sized U bolts. https://www.google.com/search?q=ubolt&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 Way safer than a hose clamp. I u...

My current Two Wheel Drive 1000 watt Electric Bicycle easily meets all but one of your Desires. Desired bike weight after conversion < 40 lbs. I use 32 pounds of batteries alone to have enough reserve to overcome the wind resistance at 35 mph. The amp draw on just the rear motor at 35 mph is around ...

My favorite multi meter is a Wallyworld 19.00 everyday price one.

I tried a harbor freight meter it has solder blobs for the rotary contacts and cheap probe socket contacts that oxidize after every use. Not for me.

A so called 80 cc happytime is a low compression Chinese copy of a high quality Russian engine from after ww2. A happytime engine advertised as 80 cc is actually a 66 cc engine because the Chinese measure displacement differently than every one else. A gp 460 with aviation fuel, high compression hea...
