Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

higher voltage controllers (mosfet based) are really only of benefit if you have a slow wind motor that is significantly underutilized at 80VDC, that you cant rewind (for whatever reason)... at least until you get to really big power levels where conductor sizes and breakers can get impractically h...

Re: Large drone motor for go kart

Back to the original question - Does anyone know what controller could be used with this motor? VESC 75/300 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbK2dcoYS7g In the vid above the developer says that it can handle a motor with 1µH inductance, which would be similar as if it would drive current through a o...

Make precharge more quick and add some discharge resistor on controller +-
Discharging the caps i have already tried (down to a few mV), but it did not help.
Precharge takes around 0,5sec from 0V to battery voltage (circuit is closed then), is this to slow?
Thanks

Re: Nucular Electronics owner's thread (setup infos, FW updates, links etc.)

I would like that it turns on automatically when the battery is connected to the main wires, because i am using a precharge circuit "relay" with keyswitch and would like to avoid to press the display button on the backside additionally each time.

Is this somehow possible?

the hemp fiber surron design pictured above does have a concentric motor / swingarm pivot .. and the motor is mounted to the mainframe, not the swingarm.. it uses the storm bee motor and gearbox reduction with the output sprocket concentric with the swingarm pivot (look closely;) .. that's why the ...

So 401Nm/7.94 (gearbox reduction)= 50.5Nm from the motor.
I think the 400Nm must have been from the motor.

Re: APL's DIY axial-flux motor

In your 'shift' photo, I'm still seeing two 'like' pole magnets on either side of one winding. This is what I'm still struggling with, and I have to go back to the very basic's of my understanding of whats happening in even a single wire. (shouldn't it go all the way over from a red pole to a black...

I tried placing zip ties at the intersections of the spokes and this greatly dampens the ringing when you bang the spokes. If the wheel was built with crossed spokes I think it would be about the same. While I can still hear whining at certain speeds, I'm pretty sure it's mostly from the primary be...

Re: APL's DIY axial-flux motor

One question I have is,.. I see in most all of the wiring arrangements that there is an interference point between each set of phase coils,.. that is a north-north or south-south point on the back iron. Between 3-4, 6-7, 9-10, etc. IMG_1983 copy.jpg Seems really inefficient, as the fields are fight...

Re: AliExpress battery pack unboxing

I can tell you for sure that this is not a controller issue (unless you got a defective one, but I really doubt it). Sabvoton controllers are really good at managing slow speed since they do current vectoring control, not speed control. So either your issue comes from the throttle itself, or, more ...

The other thing I noticed is the lag when letting off the pedals or throttle is sometimes quite dangerous. I think I really need some brake cut-off switches. Previously I've used some micro switches zip tied under the lever, but I don't want something so hideous on this bike. Does anyone have any r...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

We tested bigger (80mm) motors before. Yes they can handle more amps/torque at low rpm, but at the expense of weight and loss of efficiency. The larger motor with more torque could spin at lower RPM for same power output, so in theory it should be possible to keep Efficiency at least on same or hig...

It looks a bit like a larger version of the Torqstar..
would be interesting to know more about it, like which brand and where it could be bought.

Regarding the 80-100 outrunner motor size. it is possible to buy after market magnets that are much stronger, but after owning several of this size motors from various sources, they all have N35 magnets. Go ahead and throw 100kw into the motor. It won't matter. You can only pull on the magnets at t...

Cycle Analyst is working again, and I took a no-load reading of 152 watts at 38.7 volts, full throttle. 150W no-load is in the ballpark or better say not bad for a motor this size spinning at 1000RPM.
