Pros/Cons of a 44t/22t vs 32t/16t on a mid drive?

So I've been wrapping my brain around this but there are so many factors that I wanted to see if I'm correct: Affected Areas: - Motor RPMs - Cadence - Top Speed - Climbing Ability/ratio - Motor Efficiency - Motor Power Draw - # of teeth engagement - Wear/Maintenance So I built a 29er SS currently wi...

I've seen your ad on craigslist, just curious, do any of those batteries fit the frames you're selling? If so, can you put me on hold for a battery.

Re: $299 Prototype High Power e-Bike Frame DIY Kit

Someone from those who bought, received the goods? I paid on February 23. Ask on PM shipping info, but seller not responding. Yes, I received mine at german customs but I could not take it with me because of EU laws. Product has no manufacturer whos responsible, no framenumbers, no discribtion, no ...

Re: Can anybody identify this type of plug (Higo?) and where I can find it? Also, am I missing something from this kit?

It's from a kit I bought online, unfortunately it's a re-badged kit, the problem I have is that I don't won't to cut off the end yet because of those 4 pins? If it was just a pos/neg two pin plug, I'd be more willing to do that. I bought it off Ebay because it was listed as a 20" tire and came with ...

Can anybody identify this type of plug (Higo?) and where I can find it? Also, am I missing something from this kit?

I'll have a picture of the full kit when I get home but I ordered an open box kit on ebay. Lo and behold, it has everything except the "battery" cable. The kit is terminated by Higo? connectors. Controller current connections-> - (2) brake levers - PAS - Motor - Display - Throttle So I can only assu...

I still don't know wtf happened... *noob failures/tale

So I really should have planned ahead as my build slowly got less and less ambitious, but I thought my first real posts would be showing off my build but I don't even know what happened on my first test ride. A little background, I do work in a shop and I've probably built over 30-40+ bikes from scr...

Re: Why haven't the Vivax (Cheating tech) been cloned? Paten

I'm not a lycra racer, but though I'm still new to e-bikes, I've been a cyclist for a while now and it's more of- as I slowly built up my first ebike, my ambitions slowly got lowered as battery fitment/weight, a whole multitude of problems arose. Whereas all the most exciting builds lean towards lig...

Re: Why haven't the Vivax (Cheating tech) been cloned? Paten

I have been to NYC a couple of times. Frankly with their traffic problems, I can not understand why they are not pushing people to swap their cars for e-bikes. So in San Diego, there were proposed plans to finally build this huge dedicated North/South Bike lane but was debated because some planners...

Why haven't the Vivax (Cheating tech) been cloned? Patents?

I know this might sound dumb but I'm curious why nobody, including the Chinese, have tried creating a Vivax clone or copy yet? I mean, if we're talking about a technology that is lightweight- race proven- stealthy- very low/centered weight- can use the entire drivetrain... I can only think that it m...

How many 18650 batteries would fit around a 26650 battery?

I'm wondering if somebody that maybe has both a 26650 battery and some 18650 batteries and how many 18650 would surround 1 26650 battery? I have this idea of a copper plate fitting the shape with soldered Beryllium springs...

Most handcuff keys are universal... I know however, Masterlock does make a set of bike locks in the shape of cuffs that I wanted.

Re: Bolt On Wheel To 20mm Through Axle Conversion?

So you want somebody that has used those forks... Well I have, and I've been riding mountain bikes for a good while now. IMO, the best forks you can/should buy on ebay for the money will either be the RST First Air shocks, or the Suntour Aion/Raidon types followed by the new Rockshox Recons which ar...

Why can't I just bolt on an electric scooter swingarm?

Alright, stupid idea time! I'm just curious with products like the Ridekick and with the abundance of Electric scooters with dead batteries, I've seen tons of 48v-72v scooters for less than $300. Which begs the question, can I just take the hubmotor/rear swingarm off the scooter and have it bolted t...

Re: Battery in a tube ... concept

So I recently had a similar idea after seeing this ebay auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Battery-Module-for-Scooter-Electric-Bicycles-Lithium-E-Bike-/112267271916?hash=item1a23a69eec:g:9ckAAOSwopRYeGEz Which I think has some of your ideas as well such as the terminal ends. My idea however was using ...

Re: Why is 48V battery charge voltage all different? Noob t

I got it now... but the way I understand it more easily is.... Take the cell voltage and multiply it by the cell count. So in my case- 16x3.7V (I believe ping cells are 3.7v)= 59.2 Voltage that I should be aiming for. So now my second question, if I'm using a 56.4V charger- I understand that now it ...

Why is 48V battery charge voltage all different? Noob time

I'm surprised nobody has started a thread with quality/cheap -non/diy- chargers as we've done the same with controllers and what not and showing the insides etc... But I'm trying to understand why 48V chargers ranges from output voltages of 48V all the way up to some hardcore/high end ones of 58-60V...

Re: My 48 v 1000 watt ebike kit isnt working!

You do know that as you run more power, things tend to break more often, that will include your motor. I don't understand why you're putting your equipment at risk when budget is a problem. I also don't think you understand how heavy batteries are cause 100V batteries of 14ah of any type is going to...

Re: Can a ping 48v15ah do two motors? And fullriver packs?

dogman dan, so right now I'm considering 3 methods: 1: Yours, rear rack and saddle sags 2: Top tube mount, my original idea which you just said my knees will hit means that I was going to try and make mount that holds the batteries at the middle point so it's halfway higher on the top tube. I'm stil...

Re: Can a ping 48v15ah do two motors? And fullriver packs?

Slight UPDATE: So I'm still without a charger for the 48V ping... a seller on CL had a Ping one but wanted $25 more than what Ping wanted... so instead- I picked up another Ping Battery, the 36V 30Ah one! That came with a charger! (You guys should really watch auctions and stuff on ebay...) The reas...

Re: Solar Charger Controller as an alt. to the Cycle Satiato

Oh I wasn't hoping it would be a direct replacement but more of the functionality of it for $40. I have a radioshack 12V huge amp power supply and can now turn that into a multiple voltage battery charger which seems pretty cool for the price. My main concern when I posted this was somewhat reassura...
