Re: Arrow-7 Review... NYC's most prevalent eBike

I inquired to the 3 shops that carry the Arrow-7 in NYC 2 months ago, each said they now charge $1480, instead of the $1450 advertised price online, b/c they use the new panasonic cells. Still an excellent value for 48v 20aH, they even come with Schwalbe Marathon tires!! For a couple of dollars more...

Re: Arrow-7 or BBSHD

1. How do ES members safely charge batteries in apts, when charging in a garage or outside your home is not an option?

2. Which seller's battery packs are built the best & offer the least risk of catching fire?

3. Are there any battery enclosures that offer some fire protection?

Arrow-7 or BBSHD

Looking for a safe 1st ebike. I've read ES stories of battery fires & have been hesitant. I can't charge in a garage, b/c I'm in an apt. Here are my 2 options I'm considering. Thanks. I like the range, but it only looks to be going 6-7 mph in the above video w/ the pro skater. I Kick scoot faster than that on my Micro Kick Black. I avg. 9.8 MPH.

Re: E-boards by Yuneec Internationl

Wow, a 25 mile range is impressive at $400 cheaper, compared to 5-6 miles range offered by Boosted Boards, at roughly the same weight. I realize the Boosted Boards is 7 mph faster. Does it have Regenerative braking like the Boosted Boards?

Re: Which electric motor hub is the lightest & most efficien

I rented a zumaround scooter last saturday. I was impressed how well it took the steep hills with no pedaling in Central Park, for a 36v 250w MXUS geared hub & 36v 9ah water bottle battery. I'm not sure I can find a set up comparable or better than that for my scooter. Any suggestions? The price of ...

Where can I find the panasonic hub like the KTM eRace P?

It looks to be very efficient, according to this article: http://www.fusionelectricbikes.co.uk/ktm-erace-p/ How does it compare to other top of the line efficient & regen hubs?

Re: Samsung INR18650-20R .. yes these cells can punch

So far I've been using this pack 3-4 times a week with a lyen controller set at 25 amps and a 700c MXUS geared motor. Great top speed and great economy at such speed. Battery pack after a 7 mile ride is not even warm to the touch. I'm really impressed with these cells! Ordered another set to make a...

Re: "Regular" lithium vs LiFePO4 What's the difference.

I was about to buy Panasonic 18650 LiNiCoMnO2 chemistry, & pay a hefty price, b/c I was told they can do 1000+ recharges & are the best on the market from a China vendor. (36V 14.5AH 2.5KG USD 335.00 + about $150 to ship, using panasonic cell 3.6v 2900mah (single cell). She also told me that LiFePO4...

Re: Which electric motor hub is the lightest & most efficien

Maybe I misunderstand again, but I just don't see the use pattern that's going to overheat a controller. I know bridge approaches can be kind of steep, but shorter hills that heat up stuff are followed by time for the heat to conduct away. Provided some wind gets at the controller box, that is. If ...

Re: Which electric motor hub is the lightest & most efficien

1. Noticed the Cute 85 had roller brakes, what is that? The only option I have is to kick on a scooter, not sure if that will ruin the motor. 2. Is it true Common generic Chinese FETs will produce 5-times the waste heat of an authentic 4110 or 3077 FET, 3077′s top out at a 60V battery, but they run ...

Re: Which electric motor hub is the lightest & most efficien

Some people have lost sight of the rquirements. IIUR Falco only make rear motors. Do they do them for over 20mph in a 20" wheel? They're expensive too. Neither is a slow wind MAC going to drive a 20" wheel over 20mph. 25mph is 335 rpm for a 20" wheel. You could also use a 36v 250 rpm one at 48v. To...

Re: Which electric motor hub is the lightest & most efficien

If you cross off regen, which doesn't get you much anyway, there are more possibilities, but lightweight motors don't climb steep hills without pedalling unless the hills aren't very steep, or the rider is very light too. You need to give more information: How heavy are you? 170 lbs. How much do yo...
