Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Maybe 19S battery charged at 4.1v will work fine with stock X controller? That would be really cool Walking on the edge there. But hey, that's where the fun is. Have yourself a spare controller on hand so your bike isn't down for too long. I was personally underwhelmed doing voltage mods to the sto...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Do you have a spec for the stock controller that shows it's max voltage? Or is this just trial and error. Pulled apart a couple of the stock controllers, gutting them to house the Nuclear controller. The capacitors are rated to 80V form memory. Didn't bother looking up the spec of the mosfets. Fell...

Is it ok to run the stock Sur Ron motor at 22s with a aftermarket controller like the Kelly KLS8430H?

Re: My 1st Ebike :) - project photos
Hello Gab The bike can top speed at 55-60 Km/h without pedaling. The fastest I went was about 70Km/h in a downhill. Since day one I run my gears with gearbox oil, never heard the sound with the original grease so I really can't compare with the original sound. I like the sound of the bike because it...

My bike is 73 mm and the gng kit goes for 68mm :-( anything I can do about that? 73mm is the same as mine and it is compatible with cyclone kit. Don't know much about gng. Increasing the tension on the rear derailleur seems to work
One week since and zero times the chain came off
Let's hope I's fixed

For that range with light pedaling you will need at least 6 packs of these: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__48023__ZIPPY_Flightmax_5000mAh_6S1P_15C_EU_Warehouse_.html This will give you 48v and 15000mAh with a reasonable weight of 4kg in the backpack This charger will charge all your batt...

Thank you all for the suggestions

The chain that some times came off is the chain from the inner front plate to the rear transmission (8 gears cassette)

Thanks for the advice Tony! I am now officially clarified about the correct use of the motor :) Today I went for the same trip and didn't have any thermal cutoff. For short times it gave 35Amps to motor but after that i'm running at about 19Amps Also I upper the LVP from 39V to 41V My motor controll...

Did anyone try using thermal paste between the stator and the motor housing? stator removed cyclone.jpg The motor cover was warm to the touch (about 49ºC) when the the thermal cut off was activated (stator at 85ªC) Improving the heat transfer from the stator to the housing surely could fix the probl...
