Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

210cells is whats really fits inside with honeycomb layout and holders(for safety) This will be a 16s13p so 45Ah instead of stock 32Ah with some good cells Why did you stay at 16s? I would have increased that to at least 18s. The Sur-Ron top speed is just passable at 45MPH, it needs just a little m...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

For safety? It really is not much safer than gluing everything together or at least not worth the space.

Did you see how many you could fit without spacers?

What cells are you using sanyo 3500s? Are they still the best cells to use for larger packs?

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I tightened the headset and still hear a crunching noise when I hold the front brakes and rock the bike forward and backwards. It was tightened properly because It became difficult to turn the front wheel, then backed off just slightly. I dont know if its the fork or headset. What do you think? Prob...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Thanks, I thought I heard the sur-ron headset had issues and was breaking so I assumed it was broke over needing to be tightened.

What is special about the luna cycle headset? Isn't it just a standard 1.5" headset you can buy anywhere?

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

You want craziness take a look at this, 6500 lumen light in a very tiny package, high quality also. $350 for this. You can only use these lights if you ride in the woods at night because you would blind everyone on the street at night. I don't do much woods riding so I wouldn't need something so pow...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Share with you Do you have a picture of the front of the bike with it installed. I do know lights make riding at night in the woods like almost riding in the day. The only issue is you will come up upon lots of spider webs at night and you will see them also as the lights reflect off of them. https...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I think I managed to overheat it today, it seemed like it auto-switched to eco-mode for some time and then after cooling down went back to sport-mode on itself. The air was only 15°C (59°F), but I was trying to climb a longer, very steep hill full of large rocks and soft soil mixed with leaves, so ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I'm going to try replacing them, since I believe they use shimano zee pads for which I bought many spares.

I heard people in the biking community like using metallic on one side of the caliper and non metallic on the other side for best braking.

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

The controller is listed to have 3 speed modes. I assume this is like profiles where you can set your phase amps and battery amps and maybe also speed limits for each mode?

Will there be any power limits on these modes? Or can each speed mode be set to maximum battery and phase amps if you want?

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Took the bike out for a nice warm day yesterday. The motor does get hot, not burning hot and this was only in the 70F temp range. I worry that with 90F temp range and a more powerful controller, using overdrive, pushing the bike hard, the motor will start to overheat with the very little air flow it...

Re: Qulbix Q76R Frame Kits & Complete Bikes PRE-ORDER

Nice,

how did you mount the foot pegs? Have the moved or swivel on the bottom bracket?

If they did I have a fix for that. I'm not sure if they updated the design because I did contact qulbix about it.

No matter how tight I made them they would twist a little.

Makita and several others use nickel-plated copper, and they are spot-welded Saw this in this thread. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=68005&start=700#p1395373 Would be nice to have some kind of technology out there which is better than using 100% nickel strip, that can also b...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

With my Max-E and cromotor, my bike will easily wheelie, even at 25-30 MPH I believe I can wheelie the bike at those high speeds. What is your battery specs? I just upgraded to Max-E with at Mxus 3K-Turbo. But haven’t got to try it out yet. :D I'm using 20s14p, and have my max-e pushing around 8KW ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Just picked up a Sur Ron, got delivered yesterday. Rode it around a bit today, and boy in the stock configuration this thing is a dog. I was definitely expecting a bit more power. Surprising... I thought it was pretty quick stock, and I didn't gain much with the X controller. What is your top speed...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

https://electricrt.com/sur-ron-20s-72v-30ah-drop-in-battery-upgrade/ Looks like there will be a drop in solution for a decent battery upgrade. Something isn't adding up here, maybe my math is wrong? They claim a 72 v 30 AH pack at 2460 watt hours, but that would be a 2160 watt hour pack and not 246...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I have a 20s 16 p with 30q samsung cells in a surron frame in an aluminum box, that is the absolute maximum and I have had to make small adjustments to the frame. I think a 20s 15p goes in easily.mini_batterijbox.jpgmini_ready to go.jpgmini_chinese spagetti(1).jpg What rear fender are you using? Do...

The bike gets loads of attention, many people stop and ask about it. The bike isn't all that big considering the amount of power and battery capacity it has.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I was going to ask that too. Where do you fit 3 kwHr on a Sur Ron? I can see 2 kwHr in the stock case with GA cells... But 3? You would probably have to use another case or install aluminum sheet metal all around the battery compartment. Then fill it all the way to the top and get rid of the LED ba...

First time I actually used my ebike to commute to my new job, mostly because I haven't had a job in years. Not bad, I take the bike right on the ferry boat I need to take into manhattan and they don't even care. I ride the bike right up the west side highway, not really a highway on the southern par...

Re: Qulbix Q76R Frame Kits & Complete Bikes PRE-ORDER

No matter what foam you used it will eventually shrink. It takes a while if using closed cell foam. Hopefully you really had to force the battery into the foam and started with a really tight fit. I found that even after 2 years the battery was still somewhat compressed. Even if the pack has a littl...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I like how they fitted a cover over the 8000 controller front. E.R.T. should have fabricated some kind of cover to go over the front like they have. It shouldn't be so hard to make it even look like the Sur-ROn controller case.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Yes I agree, I would probably do it if I didn't have the controller on my hub bike. It is such a pain to remove, and I may need that bike for commuting. At this point I'm just going to wait it out and wait for some reviews from other people who start using different controllers and see what else com...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Yes that is the big question, do you need the phase amps of the 8000. The 4000 looks to have 460 limit and the 8000 has 730 limit. If I can test ride the Sur-Ron with a 4000, and turned up the phase amp limit all the way up, I would be able to determine if I really needed the 8000 with the higher ph...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

How much price difference there is between BAC-4000 and BAC-8000? Also, would BAC-4000 be enough for 8 KW power and to reach 100 km/h? Also, I'm not sure about the fit, since the length of the BAC-8000 seems to suggest that it can't fit very well. From what I can determine so far the only place tha...
